Kitty cuddle :D

I'd go with the heart condition reason and that if he is overfed, he will die. Try telling her that and hopefully she will listen. This isn't far from the the truth as overfeeding can lead to all sorts of illnesses which could lead to premature death. Overfeeding a pet (or human child) is just as bad as underfeeding.

My Egyptian Mau has recently been getting fat, so I have stopped the dry food completely and am strictly monitoring how much wet food I give him. It's hard work as you have to make sure that he doesn't eat my Bengal's food.

I'd be pretty miffed, if I found out that after all my careful monitoring of food, somebody else was coming along and giving him snacks.

This, or go into her back garden and take the food everytime she puts it out?

You are asking him to resort to robbery? :D
Not a good idea and you can bet that every time the food is gone, she will fill it up again.

OR

while he is on his diet keep him in doors or limit him to your garden only.

Got my babies Thursday night :D

Poor boys weren't treated very well though. They were covered in fleas and have worms :(
Took them to the vets on Friday so they've had treatment and we gave them a bath last night. Pulled 32 off of Charlie, 33 off of Max and found about 21 dead on the floor. Pretty much all hedehog fleas :(

Both are 8 weeks old and very timid though Charlie seems braver than Max; even allowing me to tickle his belly today. So gorgeous! I can't wait until I can properly cuddle them :)

Damn...thats a lot of fleas.
Worming is no big deal...keep giving them worming paste or spot on treatment and that will take care of worms.

But fleas can take a while to die off. You also have to make sure that fleas dont get onto your soft furnishings. If this happens, after your cats are flea-free and their treatments are over, the fleas in the soft furnishings can re-infect your cats. If this happens, then you will have to spray your entire house with anti-flea spray...which is a major pain.

What you could do is make sure the cats spend most of their time on some towels...until they are flea-free. Once flea-free, you can either hot wash the towels or throw them away.

Both are 8 weeks old and very timid...

If you had bought pedigree cats, you wouldn't take them home till the 12th or 13th week, so what you are seeing is quite normal.

The vet has given them a tablet for the worms and also sprayed additional flea spray onto Charlie as he had so many. We bought some anti flea spray for furnishings so sprayed things before they were let out after returning from the vets and we hoovered as well.
We are keeping them in one room at the moment which only has a rug so that's been sprayed and the chair they've sat on has as well. I think my mum wanted to steam clean the rug so once they are clear we are going to give it another thorough clean.

The vet mentioned how they were more timid then they should be but I don't want to handle them until the fleas have gone so I'm just being near them and introducing them to toys. think the kid from the home they were in must have scared them quite a bit. Charlie's towel was orange/brown from something that was apparently poured over him :(

I love cats and my cat with all my heart.

I dont get how chinese people can eat them.

Secretspy, forget fleaspray, its rubbish, just use Frontline, its outstanding and no need to spray anything.

What happens if he gets fleas on his soft furnishings?

When you use Frontline you use the cat as a flea magnet to attract and then kill all the fleas around.

They recommend that you get the cat to lie and sit on as many soft furnishings as possible, as all the fleas will hop onto the cat and the be killed by the frontline.

Worked great for me.. but you need to be patient. Can take a few weeks for all the fleas to hatch and hop on to the cat and be zapped.

Frontline is what the vets use although the receptionist said something about stronghold or similar so not sure if that was the worming tablet or the flea drops. Already have the spray so might as well give it a go. As said we are going to steam everything after as my mums been on about doing it for ages.

Had a quick check of Charlie and couldn't see any, not like the other day. Vet is checking on Friday anyway.

P.s. I'm a girl :p

Whatever you do dont use the crap out of the supermarket.

Bob martins I think. Did a lot of reasearch on this, and it uses a very nasty type of chemical that has resulted in cats dying after reacting to it.

Frontline uses a different insecticide that is much more modern and safer.
