Show us your kitty cats

Where did most of you get your cats from?

Got mine from OcUK, pre-built and overclocked :D

I'm still not understanding this.

This is what should happen:

You phone them...ask all relevant questions.
If they do not have any kittens, you put the phone down. If everything is ok, then goto their house, pick up the kitten, if you like it. If they want money, then this is discussed over the phone. For a non-pedigree kitten, you can pay a nominal fee (£10-£20) or take it for free.

Where in the above scenario can anybody involve a pet parcel (whatever that is) and a dead family member?

Same here, I saw my Bengal advertised, texted the owner asking her to call me, she called, we talked, she made sure we were right for the cat, we made sure the cat was right for us, we drive to her house, spent time with the cat, put him in a box, paid her and broght him home. Simple.

Need your advise guys. I don't really know what to do next.

A couple of weeks ago, Florence got diarrhea again. It was worse this time so I took her to the vets again. The vet said that her temperature was one degree too high so gave here a shot of something and prescribed the same Canakur as before, and also a course of antibiotics this time. That little trip cost me nearly £70.

A few days later there was no improvement, I'd even say it was worse as she couldn't control it then. Then she went off her food completely, up until then she was still eating normally. I looked up the antibiotics online and a couple of people had said that it had the same side effect on their cat. So I stopped giving her the tablets and we took her back to the vet as she hadn't eaten or drank for about 48 hours. The vet flat refused that the anti-biotics would have caused that (even though she agreed we should stop the course!) and promptly charged us another £25 and gave us a syringe and some stuff to dissolve in water to rehydrate her with. So I gave that to Florence later that night, much to her displeasure!

The next day her appetite came back with a vengeance, but so did the diarrhea. The next day I decided, after she had an episode about an hour and a half after eating, to stop giving her her normal food and milk. I gave her just some tuna, and water, for a day and she eat the lot and the diarrhea stopped but also she didn't use the litter tray at all. The next day we gave her some cooked chicken and she was loving that too, still no diarrhea but also still nothing else. Today she has had some more cooked chicken and a little of her normal wet food and is eating plenty.

So now I'm worried that she is all blocked up or something and I don't want to take her to the local vet because I don't trust them now. :( Could it be that she's just empty because she had the runs for so long? Is there any way I can check myself or give her something to 'loosen' her up? Should I just bite the bullet and take her to the vets? ANy advice is greatly appreciated.

Goats milk actually, which is lactose free because as you say cats are intolerant. She's been having goats milk since she was born, the farmer that we got her from milked his own goats. Actually, her food hasn't changed so that's one of the more confusing aspects of this.

I would keep the cat on the diet which is stopping her from doing the watery poos.
Keep her on the new diet.
I also wouldn't bother giving her milk. If you want to give her quality food, then stick to meat...the higher the meat contents, the better.

I don't understand it when people give their cats milk. It makes no sense to me.

Sam just went out, tentatively, in the snow. Opened the door for him and he stood looking at it for a couple of minutes before deciding to have a go. He went totally ape****, digging at the snow, trying to catch the little bits that flew up as he kicked it, did a full somersault and ran back inside. :D

Guess I wouldn't like to go out in it in bare feet either!

I would try a different vet if you don't trust the one you're going to.

Yeah, I think we'll have a look around. TBH it was a new lady that we hadn't seen before and neither of us took to her. The people we'd seen before seemed a bit more clued up and less inclined to just flog us drugs/products we probably didn't need. After Florence had her lady operation they repaired her stitches for free, after she'd bitten them a little loose, so they've been pretty good before.

Her normal wet food is good quality and very high meat content. We think it might of been the dry food as she's now eating everything else and is back to normal, well we think she is because she's started doing her thing outside now. The milk thing has been just because she's still a kitten really at 8 months old. Do you think we should stop giving her milk now?

She's been out in the snow this weekend, and out all day today, so I think she's back to her old self again. :) Although she still doesn't really like having her picture taken. :D
