Show us your kitty cats

When my parents found and took in a stray kitten on holiday in France, they contacted the local animal rescue/shelter place only to be informed that they had to get plod out to arrest it before the animal rescue people could come for it!

Just to clarify. Are you saying that the animal had to be arrested?

:D

Got home last night to find that Florence had got her bottom tooth caught under the metal ring on her collar. The poor thing, she'd obviously been stuck like that for a while and seemed very relieved when I unhooked it for her. Her lip area looked a little sore but I don't think it's done any lasting damage.

She smelt like a sewer as well so god knows where she'd been! :D

Effectively. A police officer has to come out, 'arrest' the critter, and then their RSCPA-like organisation can come out. You can't just go to the animal shelter/rescue association directly.

This is my parents new cat Milo. He's taken a liking to me. He is also the biggest idiot I have ever met:

My cats don't wear collars for a similar reason; my auntie's cat went missing for a few days a few years back, someone found her and took her to RSPCA but as she was microchipped they could get in touch with my auntie. She had got her mouth stuck round her collar (her jaw effectively stuck open) so she hadn't been able to eat or drink and she had been trying to get it off herself, the collar had rubbed so much that around her mouth where it had been stuck was a real mess. She was fine after some antibiotics etc, but mine are both microchipped and that's enough for me.

Milo is brilliant! :D

Yeah, we were thinking of removing her collar. Just a bit worried about people thinking that she's a stray.

Mine (Pickles) has a collar, but it is a safety one, so should come off if she ever got into trouble.
She has actually lost a few collars over the years, so I guess they do work
(btw, It is about time I post some pictures of Pickles, will do so soon)

He's gorgeous!

My parents have a Persian (will miss him now I've moved out) and I really like Maine Coons, would love a Persian Main Coone cross!

Here's pic of my parents Persian, Louis, asleep (sorry for poor quality, it's a phone pic):

Is it one of those elasticated ones?

If she looks well-fed and her coat looks good then no-one will bat an eyelid I don't think. There are a few round here without collars.

Well that's just it. She's a naturally scrawny little cat and with this thing she's got in her skin a the moment her coat isn't looking too great so she's got stray written all over her! :(
