hopefully you cat lovers can help me.
Next door have a cat which they rescued called Charlie. I've let him in and out for a week while they were on holiday and fed and brushed him. It took a lot of work but he gradually got very comfortable around me.
When hes in our garden hes very shy and only yesterday I managed for the first time to get him to come to me.
Hes mega shy and scared of everything inc the wind!lol does anyone have any tips on how I can make him feel comfortable around me? and help me win his confidence back again?
hes a little photo of him I took from the kitchen window. After the birds as usual, although this method of bird catching is pure fail!
hopefully you cat lovers can help me.

dont give him food to win him over, your neighbours might not like it if he starts getting fed at 2 places, my lad cat Jester needs SD cat food for a medical condition.. if one of my neighbours started giving him normal food/biscuits id kick them in the face
That's ace..his face is a picture.
You could try getting a cheap cat toy
Something like this maybe?
Just leave it on the floor and slowly drag it along the floor - if he likes chasing birdies then he will like this
Watching that vid he looks like he would like something he could pounce on and chew
Thanks for all your replies
He does love these like meaty sticks, they look like peperami? cant remember what they are called as I the neighbors had left him some to give him over the week.
When I used to go out in the garden if he was there he would run off until I called his name. then he would turn around, look at me and sit down. But not come any further and run if I tried to get closer.
No he starts to walk to me gradually. So I'm hoping your advice with the treats may work.
My neighbors last car was lovely, she always used to come over for some fuss and the neighbors were very happy that we got on really well and that we would look after her. Unfortunately she was hit by a car and died (as mentioned earlier in this thread)
Looking forward to trying to win Charlie over Thanks folks! Maybe I'll get some better photos of him.
Oh ps, here a video I took of him in the neighbors kitchen when I looked after him for the week. Keep watching to 18 seconds, he gets a bit too close to the camera! lol

Sorry not sure how to embed the video?
Is your F3 larger?
Are they both males?
Why not get a cat of your own?! You obviously like cats and crave their attention - I'm sure you would make a very good cat owner (and therefore be the owner of a happy cat)
Go down to your local RSPCA / rescue centre, and have a nosey round!
(note - I'm not trying to say you shouldn't make friends with the neighbours cat, just that you would probably get a lot more enjoyment from having a mog or two of your own)
here's maze.. we got her yesterday
she's 8 weeks old now and a very playful little girl! no litter training and has some fleas sadly.. but she's learning quick and getting to know the house don't want to force her.. fleas are being threated too
Mmmm seems one of the cats I foster hasn't quite got the idea behind this toy lol
