I've got three Adult Cats and two kittens. Funnily enough two of the Adult Cats are in fact twins and so are the pair of kittens. Leaving just the last Adult cat who is a rescue cat who who abused and so can be aggressive if he wants to be(which is common), but he's getting better.

In what way does he show his aggression?

My Egyptian Mau is aggressive, but only to foreign cats. With humans, he is just a fraidy cat and would only injure a human, while he is trying to escape from their clutches. If you don't go out of your way to molest him, there is zero chance of him showing any aggression to you.

Of course, with me, he is good as gold, UNLESS I try and wash him with water, in which case, he will draw blood with ease (I'm speaking from experience).

Have you got any pics of him...I've scrolled through this thread and I can't find any of your cat.

LOL! Here's two photos of him as a kitten...

You can see his markings were very light... As he got older he developed his stripes...

My beloved Yoda, blue mitted Ragdoll breed.
He's 5 months old and already the size of an average house cat! Ragdoll males can weigh up to 20lbs so he could be a monster!

I believe, apart from myself, you are the only other person on this forum who has an Egyptian Mau.

How does the F2 Bengal compare to the Egyptian Mau, in terms of behaviour and physical ability and what are their ages?

I find that my Egyptian Mau is physically superior to my Bengal, even though my Bengal is larger. Obviously yours is an F2 Bengal which should make a difference.

Ragdolls are well known for reaching big sizes, along with Maine Coons and Norwegian Forest Cat.

Its the long fur that puts me off. All that cleaning scares me.

Although the photo's don't show it Mez is significantly larger than Izzy however he's a lot more placid until provoked. He's deceptively quick when he wants to be (they've been clocked up yo 30mph as you're probably aware), our 15 month old daughter regularly rugby tackles him, at first we used to stop her until we realised that Mez would go up to her and lay down next to her to be hugged if we did. When I first met him I dismissed him as being a 'posh cat with no personality due to breeding' in fact he's quite the opposite, he just doesn't bother with people he doesn't know. When they play fight Izzy is permitted to win and Mez just lays on his back with his legs in the air (like he just don't care), however if Izzy goes too far Mez will get up and flatten him as he's the size of a small dog. Add cat nip to the situation and it's the other way round Izzy reverts back to his heritage :)

Izzy on the other hand can get to the top of the tv unit (a good 7 foot) and will happily then run onto the top of the open door etc, he's certainly more nimble, poised and i'd say more intelligent but they're both bent as a 9 bob note resorting to 'special cuddles' on an evening (not just your normal furr piles).

Either way we'd not be without them.

Izzy is 8 and Mez is 7... I keep being told off for not referring to him as Mesmer now, the other half seemingly has aspirations to be my own personal ocuk moderator :D

Just out of interest, what sort of temperament do Ragdolls have?. Are they quite amiable?.

Our cat Tash who passed away in Feb 2006 had a bit of Norwegian Forest Cat in him :-

We didn't immediately go out and get another kitten after he passed away but lately I have been thinking about getting another one, possibly a Ragdoll but I don't really know that much about them. :)

Hey cat experts. We have had our cat for 13 years now and she is one amazing cat so playfuy

Anyway i just relaised i have no idea what type of cat i have? Could you experts tell me? We bought her from someone as she was the runt of the litter. Thanks

Have you thought about getting a Maine ****?

I'd vouch for maine ****! Amazing temperament! Big friendly cats, which seem suprisingly good around kids too in our case... The 'fetch trait' is funny :)

Only down side - in our case - the long fur which is shed a bit...

Hadn't thought about a Maine ****. Might look into that.

Strangely enough, Tash loved playing "fetch" with a wee scrunched up ball of silver foil paper. The long fur was a bit of a nightmare though, he really had to be in the mood to let you groom him. :D
