Show us your kitty cats

Cool mine was 600g at 12 weeks so there was no chance of getting it done a 16 weeks but he's grown so much since Christmas I'll take him to the vet for a check and go from there

I had a boy and a girl so that might have contributed to my haste in getting them done :D

Definatley get them done before the spraying starts, it can be a tricky habit to stop.

Hasn't stopped ours growing, 4 and a bit kg at 18 months..

awesome yeah don't want the spray I've smelt it.

The cat is beautiful though being deaf seems to have given him so much character. I think he compensates his lack of hearing with contact. He's like my shadow, he does have an unfortunate habit of running ahead of me and collapsing out flat on the floor which would be fine if i turned the lights on when i go to the bathroom at night.............. Whilst he follows me around he seems to prefer sitting on the missus I think she stays still longer than I do though :o

I had both of mine done when they were between 4-5 months. It hasn't affected their growth at all. They're both 4kg+ almost 3 year old cats now.

No one mentioned it might stunt their growth at any point.

Male kittens can be neutered as early as 8 weeks of age.
Female kittens should be done later, as the operation is more complicated.

Theoretically, if a male cat which is not neutered, will be more muscular, but his bones will be shorter. A cat which is neutered early is likely to have less muscle mass, but longer bones.

Generally speaking though, it doesnt make too much of a difference.

i think it also depends on breed.

our BSH and tabby (poss MC cross) are about a week apart age wise and snipped the same time but the tabby is chunkier and longer in the body, the BSH is thinner build.

Whiskey appears to be losing clumps of fluff :(
I assume this is because he's 10months and losing his kitten fluff? We groom him to make sure it doesn't matt up. But now and then find a clump on the floor.

Is he long haired? I regularly find clumps from Dave, I think when they're grooming it just comes out in a clump sometimes. He's never got any bald patches, and his coat is so thick and fluffy i've never worried. :)

Yeah he's fairly long haired. No bald patches :)

I will use this as an excuse to post pics :p

Fluffy kittehs are the best :D

So last night was my first proper night in since getting back, and since getting Tony back.

He didn't leave my lap all night and followed me around the house :D

And yes, that is a Christmas tree...but I have a very valid reason. I'm extremely lazy. :p

so last night was time for our twos flea treatment renewal.

we decided last time to try the tablets as the spot on wasnt really working too well with the amount of fur floyd has. which worked perfectly as they're crushable we mixed them with chicken and boom straight down.

this time however, would they eat them? would they horlicks. "*sniff* nope"

ARGH CATS WHY YOU SO STUBBORN..

jokes on them though, if they dont take these then its to the vet for a 6 month jab :D

try a 'Buster Pet Piller With Soft Tip' - our cat hates taking pills and seems to be able to smell anything in food so we use one of these - a million times easier than trying to ram them in by hand. 60% of the time it works every time!

Some recent pictures of my MC, called Rommy, wonderful ball of fluff even if she is plotting to kill me, though she does a good job of muffling the fan sound of my 970 when she sits on my PC
