Show us your kitty cats

Well, got a small update to show my kitteh cats! I have a recent picture of Dexter who some of you know from this thread and Pinter75's famous kitten cam thread:

(Aged 4.5 months)

Thanks to Ciphon for taking this picture while he Kitteh sat for me last week whilst I was away.

Quite a big difference from when we first picked them up:

(Aged 9 weeks)

Also, I bought this the other day:

It cost £4.99 from Pets at Home. It is seriously epic. The cats love chasing the red dot around. As its a red laser on a keyring the cats have learned the jingle noise of they keyring and as soon as we pick it up they sprint towards us and start looking for the red dot before we have even started :D It's a great distraction/occupy toy!

I have a question too, my other cat Mimi (more pics this weekend hopefully) is the clear hunter out of the two. Often after she has finished running about or playing she pants a lot. I've not seen a cat do this much before but she does it after almost every play session. I've looked it up online and it seems ok as long as there is a reason for it (exercise, excitement, fear, heat, etc). Anyone else have this with their cat?

Fail, apparently im only allowed to keep 2 out of the 4 kittens :(

hassle neighbours to see if they want cats

we did that and the 3 brothers can often be seen loitering our street together. the mother is not very keen on this now that they are all about 3 times her size though

careful with the lazer - if they 'catch' it too often they'll work it out and stop playing. Use it sparingly!

And panting is normal when they are tired, don't worry about it - our cat and a friends new kittens do it after they get really into playing with 'da-bird'

speaking of which i can't recomend da-bird enough - all the cats I know love it (have bought it as gifts for a couple of people):

its basically a feather toy but the quality of the feathers and the use of the fishing spinners makes it crack for kitties :)

Also really recomend the YEOWWW!® Catnip toys, our cat doesn't seem interested in most catnip stuff but goes mental for these. He really rips into his bananna but it withstands some serious abuse :) - http://www.duckyworld.com/

Anyone got any other good toy recommendations? Silver foil balls seem to be the flavour of the month at the moment, Mac loves picking them up and dropping them into shoes

Yeah, we use it a few times a day for a couple of minutes. It doesn't substitute a good play with the good old mouse on a string and similar toys that they can physically get stuck into.

The cleverer of the two has worked out the device is what causes the red beam. She has pawed at it in our hands a few times then gets distracted by the dot though :)

One of my kittehs is a fan of the Mrs hairbands at the moment. So we have about 5 or so black circle headbands lying about the place. She loves chasing/diving after them if you throw them and depending on her mood will go collect it and bring it back to me for me to throw it again (dog wannabie) :D

We have also taken 3 in that needed a home. Sooty is our first long haired cat, can anyone else that has a long hair point me in the direction of some good brushes.

Turns out 3 of my kittens have eye infections but they are healing atleast.

Stupid mum is now in season again, its only been 16 days lol, dont need anymore kittens. I wonder if its because she isnt producing quite the amount of milk needed, hence having to bottlefeed them from time to time.

On the plus side my dad is coming round to the idea of keeping them all. You get quite attached to them when your bottle feeding them sometimes and handling a lot (bathing and putting cream in their eyes)

Not quite the "I Haz Kittens" Cam you used to buy still, filmed a vid of the kittens playing :)

(Sorry for the awful quality, was filmed on a phone + bad light)

These are our new additions :) Sam on the left and his sister Poppy on the right.

When we got them, they hadn't been very well taken care of, and within a couple of days were full of cat flu :( 5 weeks later we've almost got them right, they're 12 weeks now, still a bit small because of their bad start but sooooo cute!

Help: My neighbour's two kittens just invaded the fort as I attempted to take some rubbish to the bin outisde.

Apologies for the poor images, they were taken literally just now, one of them is very shy, so getting a good picture is quite hard :)
P.S: Don't really require help, they're adorable, can't bring myself to put them back outside.

Il have to upload some more pics of mine. Getting quite big now. They are 7 weeks old next monday. Despite our best efforts of upgrading to bigger boxes, it no longer can keep them contained lol. They have been jumping out of their box causing havoc already :p

Rescue cat, got her from local lady who looks after strays, approx 1 year old at the time i got her, now shes about 5, Sadie (i didnt name her)
