Show us your kitty cats

Anyone ever had their cat suddenly start acting as if they were afraid of you? It's been happening a couple days now, so not because of bonfire night.

Will sit on her own in a dark place in a room far away from me (and not move for hours), and will run and hide if approached?

I've not treated her any differently, been no incidents, haven't shouted at her or anything. But now she's apparently terrified of me?

Sometimes that's a sign of pain and a possible injury...

I set a trap last night, it only took a few minutes before I'd caught something..

Haha :D

/sniff. Bella doesn't like cardboard boxes. I sometimes wonder if she's a real cat. I mean, what are the odds? What cat doesn't like cardboard boxes?

One of the first things I did when I brought her home was to make a large playpen out of two cardboard boxes. She sniffed the outside of it, but wouldn't go inside, even if I put a treat or two inside (was funny tho watching her put her paws in, trying to drag the treat outside the box :p)

I always bring any new box to her to see if she's mended her ways. But no, she rejects all boxes in a most un-catlike way. I remain suspicious.

Wait just a mo... is beef and lamb natural to a cat's diet? I wouldn't have thought so! :p

There's an island in Japan where the cats eat fish every day, and seem to be thriving...

Nothing wrong with fish.
I remember on this very forum a guy had a 22 year old cat.
I asked what do you feed him/her. He said 1 can of tuna every day.

Barnaby this exact time last year when we got him

And Barnaby now

Utterly mental cat, but loves a cuddle!

Got home to a nice liquid stool on my carpet :/ I haven't posted many pics in this thread lately, but I figured you might not want to see that :p

It's funny, if she's well she poos in the litter tray. If she's not well she poos just outside the litter try, on the carpet. I should probably put a big plastic sheet underneath the tray.

When cleaning it up, noticed some red smears in the paper towels. She looks fine tho, and I can't rule out red colouring in the food. And the smell... sheesh. Every cleaning product known to man used today :p

Seriously FoxEye, I'd be thinking about a trip to the vets. Based on your last few posts, she sounds out of sorts, and if it was blood in her poo that doesn't sound great.

So nearly a year on my two little monsters have grown into, well, monsters! And still growing as well :D Am gunna need a house extension at this rate :o Good job I knew what I'd let myself in for getting Maine Coons!

My not so little boy, Kola, now weighing an impressive 6kg. Absolutely loves daddy cuddles and enjoys talking to the outside world/me but show him an open door, he's gone like nobodies business!

My little girl, Brandy, who weighs an even more impressive 6.5kg! Loves the outside but bless her still can't talk (meow). Instead we just "breath" at each other and she totally gets it .. shame I can't :)

I have to admit, I am biased over how fantastic they both are. Their personalities are fantastic even though they're little terror hawks that are always play fighting! But when it comes down to it, they really are like dogs just that they decide to not listen :D Just a pain keeping their fur in good shape, especially my girl :( Wouldn't believe I'd brushed her 10 minutes beforehand! :o

Take her to the vets.

Hi I'm Ronnie and I feel better now

Dad let me out on Tuesday night - I can't remember much of it as sometime during the night I didn't feel very well - so much so I never got home till 11.00 on Wednesday morning - Dad was glad to see me - He put some food down but wasn't hungry so Dad picked me up and put me to bed.

Comes 11.00 at night and I am still there so Dad says you stay with me tonight on my bed- OK Dad - What a bloody figget he is.

Comes Thurday morning I still didn't want to get up so just went to sleep again. - Then wham - Dad come in picks me up - shoves me in cage and takes me to Vet - do you know he pulled all my eye around -pulled my lips all over the place - poked - prodded then the most embarrassing thing - he shoved something up my bum and said your temp is up to 39.9 - Then he stuck a needle into my stomach and into my bladder and sucked some pee out and tested it - Said slight sign of sugar but that could be because my temp is up - Then he stuck a needle in my neck and told Dad to bring me back tomorrow.

Last night I felt a lot better and woofed a load of food down me.

This morning Dad picked me up but I made it hard for him to get me in cage again.

Vet said I look fine and give me some pills.

Dad wasn't very happy as it cost him 100 quid he said.

Anyway got go lie down and rest .- might as well milk it for a day or two.

See ya Ronnie

My cat Oscar seemed to enjoy the fireworks. He ran over to the window and was acting like i just pulled him away from his freshly caught prey.

I have been spending a lot of time in my man cave recently and so he has taken over my room and bed, which is fine but since then he has taken to following me around for a few hundred yards after i leave the house. This wouldn't be so bad if we weren't on a main road. Though the first cat manage to survive 23 years without getting hit by a car. Here is a piccie of him age 20/21.

Oscar is a completely black cat. An odd one too as he is impossible to annoy, you can pull his tail, rub his tummy, hold his paws or pick him up and he seems to just love the attention! All my other cats hated their tails being touched and though weren't too bothered about being picked up, they certainly didn't appreciate it!

He also suffered from a case of giant head as a kitten.

As an adult he is a little less cute and pretty deadly when it comes to the local animals. Despite being small, he manages to fight foxes, mice birds as large as magpies and rats. There is a vet 100 yards from me and they see me on a weekly basis as i come to drop off any of the larger animals which survive his overly playful nature. He manages to kill about 2 or 3 things daily, which i did not think was possible until i got this cat. The garden is big but it cant have an unlimited supply of these little critters?

incidentally hugo gave me a heart attack earlier when i caught him licking a malteaser. luckily he didn't get much off and apparently a few licks wont do him any harm.. idiot, he's always licking or eating stuff that shouldn't go in his mouth.
