Show us your kitty cats

Thank you everyone for all your kind words. I'll stop derailing the thread now with sadness. One last pic of my fluffy boy. Night night Dave :(

The purr monster. We got her about 6 months ago from a lady that had to move into a disability flat and wasn't allowed pets. Shes generally very timid but she is coming round to being more affectionate. Everything the previous owner told us about her isn't true.

She used to live with a bengal and was bullied by him so the owner wanted to separate them when she moved them on. She has put on a fair bit of weight since we got her as a result of getting to eat the foot put down for her.

Owner said that she never made a noise, didn't moult much and didn't really like toys.

She is a noisy beast, loves a good yowl, loves chirping and trilling at every opportunity. She is a hairy monster as well. We comb her reasonably regularly and a lot of hair comes out. She also covers the bed in it quite well. She also loves playing with toys. Bizarrely enough we got her one of those mice on a wire and she liked it more the less of the mouse there was. Finally the mouse died and all that was left was a little metal loop and a swivel bit and she is just as happy chasing that. Likes a challenge I think. The mouse was too big and easy to catch.

It never rains but it pours.

Dave has been run over and died. Whoever hit him drove away. Heartbroken doesn't cover it :(

Sorry to hear that! *******s!

As I was leaving the drive today my mrs was shouting at a taxi that didn't slow down even though the cat was in the road.

Her Christmas present came today...

Jonny, how stable is that?

I would like to get something tall for the kitchen area for my two, but things with single thin posts supporting a platform usually wobble around in my experience.

Yup, pretty much all it takes to get the real cat's personality out, remove the bully / oppressor.

Are you sure you want her to chase thing dangly wires? :p *looks at sig* think of your ps4. :p

Aiko has taken to jumping into the clothes horse now, for no reason at all.
Also, I got their collars to stay on over xmas :D bells and all.

Found this little one dumped at the side of a country lane today.

It was odd that it was in the cat carrier, with a pillow and blanket to lie on and the door open. It was really scared so we have brought him home for now, gave him some food and water and de-flea'd.

Will be off to the vets on Monday for a scan. Just don't understand the mentality of dumping the cat in such comfort in the middle of nowhere  why not take it to a sanctuary? People are strange.

that sort of thing makes me rage. poor little guy :(

It's a ****ed up world we live in. Rage is the right word. There are some people I'd just like to batter over the head with my keyboard, and people who mis-treat animals would be first in that queue :p

Seriously, there is no excuse at all. None. It's a complete lack of care, lack of effort, lack of common decency... it's appalling :(

Disgusting, selfish people!! It absolutely sickens me seeing people do this to animals.

Well done Robocod for helping this little dude out and making sure it is safe.

I absolutely hate people that do things like this, we need to round them up and dump them in the middle of nowhere, alone, cold, hungry & scared, see how they like it!

Like you said, there are disgusting and selfish people in the world. Fortunately those people are a minority though. I like to think what we have done is what every normal decent human being would do :p I appreciate the sentiment though.

I just don't get the brainless acts though. Like why go to the effort of dumping it in a box with a blanket on a country lane? I think I understand mentally unstable types who are cruel to animals more than just stupidity.

it is a little odd. a lot of places are turning away people trying to give up their animals due to overcrowding (one reason I said adopting rescue cats rather than buying kittens from breeders a few pages back), maybe they tried that and got turned away.

no excuse for just leaving the poor guy though.

I think it was just watering from being sat out in the wind (it was very blustery where we found him). I think it's actually a girl, given it's much smaller than our Barry and even smaller than Poppy. Maybe a young adult if not. One thing is for certain, its tail is broken at the base :( it's walking a little funny and doesn't mind it's head being stroked but cowers away when you go near its back end.

May have been a choice between having him put to sleep or setting him free. Most cats will adapt to living in the wild.

All well and good but an over population of wild cats isn't good and given the mentality of some of these people I doubt the poor thing has been neutered. Pets are a responsibility, you don't just abandon it in the middle of nowhere if you don't want it.
