Show us your kitty cats

Does anyone else's cat randomly like to attack you? My cat, Cluney, does it every couple of weeks. Everything will be fine, and then suddenly he'll lunge at me (usually my hand, but he's sat on the arm of my sofa when I was lying down and attacked my face once. It was like one of those face huggers from Alien coming at me, legs out stretched, determined look on his face and then BANG, claws into face).

Evil so and so he is, so much so he's affectionately (or maybe not so) been dubbed 'The Monster' by my friends... But I love him nonetheless.

Sorry to hear that Devious, what are the vets saying? Looks a lovely kitty too.

Our cats do that. One of them (his name is Serge) is very funny, he'll go to bite you, put his teeth around your hand while holding you with his paws, and you say "SERRRRGE!", he'll stop biting and just lick you instead. I love doing it :)

The vet said cancer in cats (unlike dogs) is almost always malignant and it has already spread to her other teats. He said you can do a mammary strip and radiotherapy which is costly and very distressing to the cat, also it will only prolong her life by a bit and it is almost inevitable that it will get into her lungs.

He said it is kinder to spoil her and give her good final few weeks/months.

Really sorry to hear that mate.

From what I've heard you also need to be careful as cats (& many animals in general) don't show their pain very well. So they can be in distress and not clearly show it. So if the vet didn't mention to be on careful lookout, maybe be so...

Hopefully she'll have many happy months/years yet!

To give you some point of reference my now 18 year old cat was diagnosed with a tumour on his Liver and Pancreas just over a year ago. He is still happy albeit he has lost weight and is on tablets for high blood pressure (which is not necessarily linked to the tumors).

This is Timber, our new 5 month old Silver tabby. He wasnt getting along with the previous owners 5 year old cat so we have given him a loving home instead. He is absolutely gorgeous and insanely friendly. He loves people and cuddles and if he isnt trying to lick your face he will curl up next to you into a lil ball of fluff.

It's going to be fun when she meets with Savannah, or Siamese lol

let us know how it gets on because we took on a red point siamese which literally just trys to kill our other cats whenever it sees them! our garden used to be where all the cats hung out but they darent set foot in it at all now !

Really sorry mate. I lost my cat when she was 7 as well. At least you have some good time left, we found out a few days before hand that she needed to be put down

Plenty more can be seen HERE. Big thanks to Khaaan! who took the pictures using his photography skills.

Also, I bought this the other day:

It cost £4.99 from Pets at Home. It is seriously epic. The cats love chasing the red dot around. As its a red laser on a keyring the cats have learned the jingle noise of they keyring and as soon as we pick it up they sprint towards us and start looking for the red dot before we have even started :D It's a great distraction/occupy toy!

I have the very same laser pen :D video linky below
