Show us your kitty cats

£100/moggie. WTF!!!

Just for information, our three kittens were £75 each from the Cats Protection. We got them at 9 weeks and that included: first 2 injections, flead, wormed, security tagged, 1 month insurance.

Private "breeders" were looking for 100-150 at the time.

I've had 2 bad experience with pet rescue cats (parents have had one as well).

I know it's a lovely thing to do, but I'd personally only get a kitten from one in the future.

Wow @ Issy, isn't she beautiful in that second picture!

One of Beryl taken the other day after I put a new bird feeder up!

I remember, when I was buying my pedigree cats, I came across plenty of adds from private households who were basically giving the unwanted kittens away (which I think is fair).

My sister paid £30/moggie from a cat shelter. I remember reading how other people had got their cats for free (they give a £10 donation and get charged £10 for the vet check).

I'm struggling to comprehend how anybody could ask for a significant sum for a moggie. At this rate, you may as well buy a pedigree. This way, you can target exactly the sort of cat that you want - athletic, lazy, big, small, intelligent, dumb, long hair, short hair, no hair etc.

The worst thing that seems to be happening is that these cat shelters would rather the cats be put down (as people refuse to pay the inflated prices), than for them to go to a good home. Shocking!

Sorry... That's doesn't quite make sense? "I know it's a lovely thing to do, but I'd personally only get a kitten from one in the future." The "but" seems to contradict the sentence?

Kind of, just saying I wouldn't get an adult cat from the cat rescue again, I'd only get a kitten.

Not too complicated :)

My gran has had a bit of bad luck with rescue cats, one was called jasper and was obviously a bit mental he would run back and forth so fast and then claw you to bits. Poor guy turned out to have a brain tumor :(Then she got another one that developed cancer :(

New ones taken about a year to get to know us all but still hisses a little but has finally chilled out. pics a few pages back. Would always go rescue cat its just so nice to give them a loving home.

My two. Unfortunately Charlie had to be put down today.

He is the Ginger one. He had a good innings but was riddled with ulcers it came on pretty quick. Had to make the decision to keep injecting him with vitamins but we knew he was not happy anymore. Got him from the Cats Protection League back in 1995. Survived two other Persians. RIP mate. :(

Other one is Oskar who is a pure breed Maine ****. He is going to be lonely now.

His favourite place in the world was in the spring when the Daffodils come up on the front lawn. Silly thing thought he was invisible. :)

This was little Issy when we first got her in April.

Never really been a pet person. I absolutely love Issy though. She's the cutest cat ever!

Stunning cat 'insert awwws'.

One other thing caught my eye, those chairs look familliar and I'm presuming the table is marble?

Got them now, they are apparently 16 weeks, however were not treated very well. :(

Hopefully they will settle in nicely :)
