What's the cat called?

The kittens have only recently discovered how to get on the roof (it's a dormer bungalow) and meow at my daughters' windows to be let in

All of the cats we have had in this house have done it

Never seen one use the skylights in the kitchen as a slide though ....

Lol that gave me heart palpitations, my Veluxs are in my loft two floors up

Oscar is being a pain in the butt. He has taken to staying out all night for the past few weeks and everything was ok until Saturday. He went out around 20.30 which is around the same time as usual but didn't return at all overnight for something to eat and never turned up on Sunday morning. I went out on foot around the lanes, fields and woods after lunch looking and calling for him and there was not a trace of him. I was starting to panic by now and was worried sick. Still no Oscar by tea time. I couldn't eat my tea as I had made myself sick with worry (my cats are my world and I had all sorts of things going around my head) so I went out again even further afield but still no trace of him. His poor sister Cleo was crying for him and she hadn't eaten or even been outside all day. Went to bed but watched tv until 1am with Cleo cuddled up to me and we must have nodded off. Just after 2am Monday morning I was awoken by someone eating their munchies. I thought it may have been Abby at first as she often does midnight raids on their food but I got my torch turned on and it was Oscar back again at last. I got out of bed but he legged it downstairs and out of the catflap again. He was back a hour later looking for more food but again went out. Finally he came back at 05.30 and jumped up on the bed head butting me and purring his head off and gave me a nice cuddle for over 30 minutes. Having a very soft place in my heart for my fur babies I had tears of relief running down my cheeks. The cuddles ended with him slowly rolling onto his back which usually means scrath my belly hooman but this time the bugger wrapped hiw legs around my arm with his huge claws out and bit me (he does this from time to time). He jumped off the bed and started on his second bowl of munchies. Cleo jumped down on the bed from on top of the wardrobe, sprinted down the bed, jumped off and flattend poor Oscar before biting his neck as if to tell him don't go putting us through that worry again. They then got back up on the bed and gave each other a good wash. Last night he went out again at his usual 20.30 and still hasn't come home again so I am worried sick yet again. He's only 13 months old and I have never had a cat do this before. I really hope he isn't going to make a habit of it as he will end up putting me in a early grave with worry!!

On a side note we had a lot of thunder yesterday and poor little Cleo was terrified and divided her time between hiding under my chair and cuddled up tight against me. Ozzy was sleeping and didn't budge and Abby was downstairs with the wife not bothered by it.

Our Ronnie has done the same -he used to be in every night by 9.00 -eat and eat then just wait for us to go to bed -He would stay there all night - comes morning eat and out through the window.
Now things have changed - he is out all day just coming back occasionally for grub and back out -Won't even stay in at night and sit's on bench by bedroom window.
Now we have seen a black cat about and don't think it's Milo from over the road - Ronnie has a few war wounds not to mention having his tail bitten through -Went bad with puss and we never even saw it till we noticed he was licking his tail a lot.
It is stressfull him not coming home - I would like one of those collars with GPS on so we can track him but I doubt it would last long round his neck.
The last time he didn't come home we just left it and sure enough later in the evening he came in and wonders why we cuddle him.

I also think this black cat has come in the house (bungalow) as we leave rear bedroom window open for Ronnie and it's marked everything in bedroom and Ronnie can't settle down now so he will stay in lounge. We can't smell anything.

They are a bloody worry ain't they.

You don't know Ronnie - he loves the rain and will sit out in it - He has come in soaked to the skin- But yes I agree with you that they like being out over the summer - he is also a cat you have to physically drag away from log burner. - I am sure all cats love the heat from a fire / radiator.
We think he is on edge over this other cat - he just can't settle anymore.
One thing I have noticed is he will let you pick him up and cuddle him - in past he has squirmed to get down - also had a look at his eye which has some black gunge in corner and had what looked like a blob of blood in his fur by right ear but it turned out to be dried dirt or something. I was surprised at how much he will let you poke and prod him now .

Too right and Oscar has me worried sick with his wanderings. A gps tag on a collar is all well and good (I had one for Abby when she was younger) but it only tells you were they have been and not were they are. The company that invents real time tracking in a tiny package will make a bloody fortune.

Nothing beats an Amazon box in the afternoon sun it would seem…

I had a strange experience yesterday. I was next door as my neighbour asked me if I could put the kittens new cat tree together for her. I said of course and that it would only take 10 minutes. Yeah right, the little terrors were all over the bits I was trying to put together and it actually took 30 minutes. They didn't even look at the huge box it came in and that is the first time I have seen any cat ignore a box. Weird!!

Still no Oscar although the wife told me last night that he brought a mouse home, had a drink and went back out early (5am) yesterday morning. It would have been nice if she told me as she knew I was worried sick. She woke me up at 05.10 this morning to say he had been in again but went straight back out after having some food. I don't know if she is saying this to make me less stressed but I can't tell where he had food from as he certainly didn't come upstairs. If he did come in why the hell didn't she shut him in? I will have a chat with her when she comes home later but I haven't seen him since Monday evening now and I am beside myself with worry.

Ozzy is back although I have no idea when he came back. He certainly wasn't in before lunch and I never heard the cat flap. He may have come down the top of the garden while I was down the bottom shouting his name. I don't care, at least he is home and safe. He is in our bedroom on top of the wardrobe with a fan playing over him as he is boiling with that thick coat of his. His sister is in the computer room with me and also has a fan playing over her. Abby is down the garden under our shrubs so is nice and cool(ish) although it is 23.4 degrees C in the shade right now with a hot southerly gentle breeze so it's not that cool.

So glad that Ozzy is home safe and sound.

Good news :)

They can cause some stress can't they!!

Stress!! It's been never ending since this hot weather started and Ozzy started staying out all night. He is already away again and god knows when he will be back this time.

Ronnie popped in for a quick lick of double crean (only half a spoon full) and we noticed a mark infront of his right ear - I grabbed him and wife got a wet cotton wipe out and had a look - she found a red hole in other words he has been fighting again - So one more thing to do in the day when he pops in for a chat.
He hasn't slept in since this hot weather came.

Fernley isn't enjoying the heat it seems. He is eating less, but pretty sure he is eating as the bowl doesn't overflow or anything. Very lethargic. He goes outside a couple of times a day for a bit but wanders back in soon after, isn't really an outdoor cat. Does anyone else's cat eat less in the heat especially if they're not very active during the day?
