Show us your kitty cats

Jelly has been on a bit of a killing spree past couple of days. Probably about half a dozen voles, mice dismembered and a rat that was dropped in the hallway...that was fun. I know its instinct but it does **** me off when she kills things, not the rats so much as they always try to steal the bird food.

Last time she did this she ended up being backed up and couldn't poop, wouldn't eat and I had to take her to the vet where she got put on a drip

All pets have a cost. It's just whether you can accept that cost.

Most cats grow out of their hunting habits early on. Funny, but it's often the females that keep it up.

I have a 1-year-old at the moment, who, thank heaven, keeps the pigeons away from the garden. She is an amazing climber. Pigeons are like wind farms. We need them, but I don't want one in my back garden!

They are absolutely stunning.

Cleo is still having her feather fetish although it's better than bringing home dead things. Just why she has to do it at stupid o'clock overnight and then play with it on the bed (with us in it) is beyond me.

Ozzy is still going missing all the time. Sometimes I don't get to see him for a day or two and even then it could be just a fleeting visit to have some food and he's off again. Other times he will come and stay in for a few hours every other day before going away again. I don't think anyone is taking him in as he is always starving when he comes home. I just don't know what he is up to. I have walked miles looking for him while calling his name including walking around all of the fields and there has been no sign of him. He usually shows up around 04.20 in the morning for food, a drink and sometimes a brief cuddle but I don't think he did this morning. It's really stressing me out as I am constantly worried about him. We tried shutting him in but somehow he can get out of a locked microchip cat flap and if we shut the kitchen door he goes crazy and has taken a chunk out of the door frame. Yesterday was a good day and he was in for over 12 hours. I don't know when he came in but he was in his bed at 7am and didn't leave until around 19.30 last evening. He was all over me yesterday, on my lap, head butting my hand, cuddles on the bed when I was reading my Kindle for several hours and purring his head off. Him and his sister, Cleo were also tearing around the house like a couple of little kittens. I really don't get it!!

I love this shot and I wish I was zoomed in more for it as it shows her gorgeous face and she just looked straight at the camera.

Next doors kittens have started being allowed out so I will try and get some photo's of them for you all.

Just got a big shock. I was at the kitchen sink when the catflap slammed open and a brown and black blur shot in. Ozzy's back again!! He went straight upstairs, stuffed his face and went to bed. Two days in a row!! I know I am being hopeful but it could be that the Ozzy that I know and love so much is making a comeback. Wifey always said he was probably staying out because it was so hot and it was massively cooler yesterday and today. Coincidence or just a cat being a cat?

He made it to 18 :D

Ours will be 18 later this year, she has more of a resting grump face than your lad though.

Old cats, new tricks, after a bit of persuasion she's learned to use some steps we got her to get up and down from the windowsill rather than launching herself down on her ageing legs.

Yeah she is 13 now and thankfully seems to have given up on the birds, tbh I think she is too out of shape to catch them.

What's wrong with the pigeons? I quite like the them and the way they bumble and plod about. All is welcome in my garden aside from the rats, although maybe they are not much different to the mice etc...

Around a year old, many cats feel the urge to wander. Sometimes they just decide to move to a new owner, sometimes they are forced to, because they wandered too far and couldn't find their way home. Sometimes they remain "semi-stray" forever, but this little fellow didn't want that life, he's selected you, and now his life depends on your kindness.

Three days seems to be the limit for cats. If they haven't returned by then, then something has happened.

@MCFC_ANDY Could you take the cat to the vets to see if it's been microchipped or it may have even been reported missing? Just because a cat is hanging around doesn't mean that they are a stray. They will always try to scrounge off anyone and after what I have been going through with Ozzy going missing for days on end I would hate to think that you may have unknowingly "adopted" someone else's much loved pet. I think it should be law to have all cat's microchipped and any responsible owner would be doing it anyway.

Microchipping before 20 (e) weeks is compulsory now, I'm not sure how it works with already owned cats.

no vets near but info ive gathered is the cat has been sleeping around here for a while, have small neighbourhood cat has been given food by many neighbours, microchip will be looked into unless it disappears, i leave door open all day n night so its free to leave anytime, i put out at night as nice weather but is always in yard in morning waiting for me to open door
