Show us your kitty cats

That's how I ended up with my cat: he turned up a few times over the course of a summer, was very affectionate and would sit with us for a few hours before disappearing again. Then one very cold winter's night he came in and stayed. We took him to the vet, found he was chipped and contacted his owners - we'd wondered if he'd been abused or abandoned, until we met them and found they were devastated he'd left. He'd been well cared for, well loved and still had a brother living with them. We tried to send him home with them but as soon as they unlocked the cat flap he was off and back at ours. I guess sometimes they just fancy a change?

Probably his brother had a lot to do with it. Just because they get on OK doesn't mean they want to live together.

I don't see the problem

Winston doing much better and back to his normal ways with eating, wonder if it was some sort of IBS thing though my mum still thinks there's an element of 'gentle fading' (he'll be 19 in the summer). His classic pose.

That's great to see.

My 18 year old is still on steroids but has started eating more again. She's not right though, quite weak and occasional coughing is a worry.

It goes from thinking we may have to make that horrible decision to her looking all comfy and wanting a brush.

She can still make it upstairs albeit slowly but she looks so thin.

It's absolutely killing us at the moment, yesterday was a good day and then she randomly decided to go outside and away for half an hour. Cue her returning with her mouth gaping open and stressed to buggery (probably seen another cat).

That did her no favours.

Still a few more days of steroids, a chat with the vet tomorrow and I expect another trip in next week.

Absolutely doing me in.

Sometimes the batteries just run low and there isn't anything you can do about it. She may well pick up as the weather does.

Aye, spoke to the vet today in the end.

It's a case of see the steroids through and reassess if she's doesn't get worse.

E: And now she's curled up on the sofa as if nothing's happened. I wonder if she'd just winding us up and messing with our heads :)

At least she seems comfy

That one's always wanting a bit of a fuss when you're right in the middle of something.

However, she's not all that happy due to the recent arrival of these two nutjobs in fur:

We're keeping them separated at the moment and I really hope they start to get along soon.

So our other cat 3 years old Oscar is also unimpressed by the 2 new arrivals. He's not been aggressive with them, if they've got too close he hisses and if that doesn't work they get the deep growl, that does the trick and they leg it. He'll come around soon, we did feed them next to each other yesterday and everything was fine until Ernie on finishing his decided he wanted in on Oscar's as well. They went nose to nose for a sniff but then the growl came and he legged it. I think in a week or two they'll have him playing, he loves to play with Milo next door who is a year younger than him, they are constantly rough and tumbling.

That kitten looks super sweet :D
