Show Us Your Motors!

:)

Thanks Muffin, I'm aware, but if the rust hasn't shown itself on the outside of the rails yet then surely you can't check any other way? The outside of the rails seemed clean enough...

Make sure you keep the drain holes clear. Can find them just behind the seatbelt pillars under some carpet. Either a trombone cleaner on ebay or an unbent coat hanger is good.

Worth doing to make sure the rust doesn't get much worse. Trombone cleaner might be better as its less likely to poke holes in any rust!

You should be able to get your hand under the sills and press from the inside. Hopefully it'll feel fairly solid :)

If you're worried, fill the sills with waxoil. If the drain holes are blocked you will hear water sloshing about anyway but worth checking them. There's drain holes close to the front jacking points behind the front wheels too.

Few better (not really) photos

Nice KIA, turbo engine version of our Veloster, bet it goes pretty well.

204bhp & 265Nm I believe so more power than the Veloster Turbo.

Certainly goes well but it's no super car, 0-60 takes 7.4 seconds according to the books.

Xeons
Sat nav
Reversing camera + sensors
Recaros
Heated seats and steering wheel
Cruise
Auto everything
Climate inc A/C
LCD main display
Bluetooth with hands free calling etc
Power mirrors

Very happy with it. Even with the 18s the ride is comfy yet good, torque comes in very early (around 1750rpm I think) so it pulls well.

Thought the 0-60 might be quicker than that considering it's over 200bhp?? Think it's a great looking car though, nice one.

According to forums (take this with a pinch of salt) people have gotten it down to 7s with measuring data so whether KIA have gone the conservative route i'm not sure.

It does have 6 gears :)

Was looking around and there is a remap that takes it from 240bhp and 330Nm but doesn't provide any 0-60 times for comparison.

I need a better camera/someone who is skilled at taking pictures to really show it off. My Nokia 1020 is ok but not the best

Size

I have 3 kids and tbh I can see this even being a squeeze on long journeys.

The fact the ST doesn't come in a 5 door is daft IMO, especially when it's a 5 door in the states.

I do like the new fiesta ST and tbh it probably offers more performance and a hotter drive (plus i've always tinkered with cars so Mountune would be done) but I need to grow up a bit now haha

The Focus ST was the other option but cost more and again didn't seem to be that big in the rear compared to this. Boot size is bigger on the Cee'd too. Insurance for the Cee'd is £380 odd, with the Focus that jumped to £500+
