Whats it like reliability wise?

3 main common problems is

Water seals. It's the equilavent to a head gasket going. It's totally dependant on the type of usage. Lots of heat cycles and short journeys means they will fail quicker. The Americans get more miles out of theirs before they fail due to the longer roads. You can still drive it around, but you loose more and more water the worse it gets. You have to take the engine out and take it to bits to replace these seals. I did this myself last year just before the nurburgring trip.

Rear suspension pillowball bushes. These usually last about 50,000 miles before replacement is due. You start getting a clunking noise on deceleration.

Turbo control system. All these cars came with twinturbo's and the turbo vacume system is pretty complicated. Being a 15 year old car with many heat cycles, these rubber pipes are gonna leak and cause boost problems.

Rx's have a bad rep for blowing up. If they're tuned correctly and in good shape with all the reliability modifications done, they will be fine. They love being revved, but like any £35,000 car like this was when it came out in 1992, they are gonna cost a lot of money to fix. Just imagine how much £35,000 was in 1992. Average price of an house back then was £60,000!

Mazda has a good rep for reliability. They came out top last year. http://www.egmcartech.com/2007/01/25/mazda-and-honda-top-the-reliability-survey/

With this car, it's gonna cost a lot simply because it's a specialist type car that no one knows anything about.

Had my 220GTI for 4 years. Only sold it because it kept getting broken into. Got nicked once, found it over longbridge b,ham, but it never felt the same after they got their thieving hands on it. Was a brilliant car.

Liking it. Roversports front bumper, rear spoiler and grille.

Did it get stolen with the disklock on?

No it didn't. Basically i was out in the car and i popped back home for a bit and left the car on the pavement with a different lock in the back (one of those that cover half the wheel). I went back out about halfhour later and the car was gone. I couldn't believe it, i was gutted! The police found it 2 days later, gave chase into a cul-de-sac and 3 young chavs jumped out, and the police caught the driver. The driver was a serial car thief lol and got sent down for 7 years for armed robbery. The car got broken into again twice after that, stole 2 sets of headunits & amps, it got nicked off my drive too, but luckily i used the fuel cut off switch and they abandoned it a few doors away. They stole all my equipment though. I used to have a motobuild window spoiler on the back and that got nicked too. I found out where the thief of the visor lived, nicked it back off his car, and sold it with the car LOL

No mate, but i went with a lad last year, and he's got the same car, same colour but with vented bonnet and deep dish wheels so i bet it was him. He goes about 4 times a year and become a ring junkie lol. He's putting some quick times in now as well. Think his fastest is 8.04 BTG. Not bad for only 330bhp. Here's some vids of him on the ring if your interested http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=waspishbobfish

I dont see my car as a ***k extension like some people, sorry if its not to your 'standards'.

:o

A cook extension...how does a car extend your cooking abilities? :p

Most people on here do actually have 'normal' cars, but as you can see there are some which are modified or performance, but I wouldn't class them as extensions...unless the owner is a tool. :p

Also tatts has a Civic, so he can't overly talk. :p
