Bye bye 16"

Just out of interest what have you done with the 16's ;-)

Andi.

:(

It's the stock suspension. Bigger wheels just mean less tyre :p
I can live with the gap. Don't miss my S3's suspension one bit!

Sounds broken to me!

Why? It's aerodynamically a brick, weighs more than my house, has a torque converter automatic connected to a big supercharged 6 cylinder engine. He didn't have a light right foot but it's not a shocking figure to me

We ran a SDV6 245PS Discovery 4 for around 6,000 miles (from new, so engine still breaking in) and it averaged nearly 30 over that time. My Dad has a TDV8 RRS that manages much better than 22 on average.

22 on a run from a diesel V6 Range Rover sounds broken.

P.s. it's turbo'd not supercharged.

Ah I thought the SD compared to TD meant supercharged - I'm far from an expert as they're not my sort of car. It was probably his cruising speed of about 90 that did it, I imaging the aerodynamics make the economy drop off pretty badly at higher speed

Yes, the cruising speed does make a difference. It drops off a lot over 70.

I think LR use the 'S' designation for the higher output diesel engines.

So not got rid of the 350Z or the Hybrid, however with me moving house my wife now needs a daily for general use as I will use the hybrid most of the time for work and she didn't fancy taking my Nissan to work every day (and I didn't really fancy it running 5 miles in traffic every day either. So figured it would be a great time to get a car I can do a bit of green laning in - and not have to really care about what she does with it during the week!

Picked this up yesterday, eBay special although from a trader. Seems pretty solid, given it a once over this morning and over than a bit of surface rust here and there it seems pretty solid. Cheap and chips and literally like driving a defender that shrunk in the rain - bouncyness, gearbox and all!

4WD system and low range seems all in order, one has one key at the moment tho and that looks like its going to fall apart shortly so that is on the list of things to sort. Also planning to lightly lift it - probably 2" suspension lift, and change over the wheels to allow something a little chunkier - possibly Khumo KL71s or potentially BFGs. Annoyingly it has 4 literally brand new Michelins on, so I may well keep them for daily use to save the ride.

So far love it! And totally different to the hybrid and 350Z! Although ironically seems less economical than the 350Z?!

Picked this up a week Friday gone and thats my part ex. in the background...the bright blue Focus 1.6 Sport :)

2014 plated S line with just under 7k on clock. Absolutely immaculate, first car I have ever had with so many gadgets on it. Looked around for a while for one with Sat Nav and DAB, as most of them I saw didn't have both and I didn't really want the Technik version, which I believe has both as standard.

Can't believe that the insurance on it is only about £20 extra and i also save about £150 on the VED against what I was paying before.

Still not quite got to grips with the electromechanical handbrake, just a bit weird in all honesty.

Oh as I posted in another thread about PCP deals, we don't like them, for us personally anyway, however the dealer said we would get £1000 off screen price and two free services in the PCP deal, so we took that instead of paying cash and as I was advised in the other thread......gave it 7 days, cancelled the PCP, paid off the balance, with about £10 interest...get to keep the servies and the £1k off.....salesman even threw in the free GAP insurance to clinch the deal at the time, as we played the "not that eager" to buy card.

Upon collection we also asked about their alloy wheel insurance offer, which we found out about. You can claim upto 6 repairs a year, for 3 years, so 18 in total...all for £150. With the kerbs round here, old blue brick ones with 90 degree edges , we decided to take that.

Loving front/rear parking sensors with parking system plus, rear one is so handy for putting car in garage, I am 6'3" and even I cannot see any part of the boot lid in the mirror

The wife even told the dealer she wanted a pair of the Audi cups out of the showroom (she has to ask for something, as car mats were already in car :p ), he said he couldn't do that but he has ordered us two new Audi mugs with our names on and after a quick call to him yesterday about my missing emergency key, he told me they will be here in a few weeks :)

The electromechanical handbrake is one of the best things about the car IMO. I love just "setting off" without faffing about with the handbrake at all, just clutch up and drive away.

Yep a lot of people don't realise you can do this. I assume the audis set it when you turn off the ignition like my old pug did... There was literally nothing to get to grip with, just forget about the handbrake completely
