You should easily get 30MPG at 80/85MPH which IIRC is the speed limit for most of the way. As the roads are a lot emptier there's a lot less slowing down for traffic and speeding up again - I always find I get better MPG in Europe. When I moved down to France in my old XJ6 I packed the car full of all my stuff, did 80/85 most of the way down and got 34MPG. My dad managed 38 following me in my old MR2, But I reckon he was a lot less comfortable!
 
I reckon he would be as well, my MR2 turbo was massive fun but I wouldn't like to sit on a toll road for 6 hours in one.
Let me know what you get in France, should give me a good idea. Driven it a couple of times but in a Stype 2.7d and a CTR Fn2.

The turbo will have made the van much better than it would have been without one! (And the Ceed for that matter) ;)

I drove a LWB Mitsu L300 daily for 3 years, that thing had an N/A diesel which put out about 40HP~ I'd guess. :eek: It was supposed to put out 68HP, but there was something up with it. :p

Still, it was RWD and 40HP was enough to get the back out (and knock down a fence *cough*) on a loose dirt farm track.

I was 14, I think I can be forgiven. Besides, I was trying to get the back out, I was just far more successful than I thought I'd be. :D

The only other incident is well known and doesn't need covering again. :p
