The T sport will hit 60 in 2nd, only just though

Just found the gearbox and diff ratios and at 8000rpm you are hitting 60.1mph.

So realistically you're changing into 3rd for a genuine 60mph unless you bounce it off the limiter which would be pretty pointless in the real world.

I'd imagine ~7.5s is more realistic. With launch control I timed 7.5s to a true 60mph and I don't need to change into 3 rd (65mph in 2nd with a 7500rpm rev limit) the T Sport is about 15bhp/tonne up on me

Not true, the redline is at 8250, so you can comfortably get it to 60 with enough time to change into 3rd. :)

You can just about hit an indicated 65 in 2nd (and just about hit an indicated 90 in 3rd :D)

I refer back to:

Bear in mind that time could be improved on even more with a more aggressive launch, and changing gear before hitting the rev limiter.

It doesn't *feel* as fast as some of the others though, because there is a significant change in performance above 6200RPM and below 6200RPM, and you won't be driving everywhere at 6200RPM. (The same story with the EP3, but the cam changeover is at a lower RPM in the EP3 so the top end power is more accessable)

The noise is one of the reasons it is fun though...

Getting there, but I can assure you it will do it in 7 or under. :p

As per the video above (and many others) if you don't want to take my word for it. I'm sure we could arrange a passenger ride at a meet somewhen if you really want. I don't drive how I act on here so I promise you'll survive. ;)

The problem with the CTS is that it really has everything stacked against it. When it was new, it didn't cost much less than a Civic Type R, so everyone bought Civic Type R's because they were better (and looked much much better). By the time they revised it 4 years later with new suspension, a front strut brace, a couple of small engine adjustments, and a body kit, everyone had completely forgotten about it, because it still wasn't as good of a car as the Civic Type R.

Now, all these years later, a good CTS costs about half what a good CTR of equivelant age and mileage would cost, and they are almost exclusively driven by pensioners who wanted one because it was a top-of-the-line Corolla, and barrys who wanted one because they couldn't afford a Civic, which further detracts from their credibility... Which leads to situations like this where people who genuinely know about cars, don't believe that this wolf in bedraggled sheeps clothing has existed unnoticed for such a long time...

If it weren't genuinely a sub 7 second car, I wouldn't say it was. If I were to bounce about singing the praises of the Corolla, I wouldn't be so quick to describe it as inferior to all of its major rivals in every way besides straight line acceleration.

I've had my obd2 setup for moons but never tried 0-60 in my 3, official it 9.1 and I'd easily believe that even tho it feels faster

Here's one I took earlier... :p
