Show Us Your Motors!

But from an outsider's PoV, how is the look any different? Both a "proper" approach and a cheap "eBay" approach would look as cack as each other.

Normally cut springs etc would have damaged arches, bumpers etc general fitment of things being off.
I guess the care to the vehicle as well. It looks like he has probably spent more than most people do on a car getting it to that state.

Sorry, what? How can you tell, from the angles in the photos, if the car is on airbags, coilovers, lowering springs, or simply had a coil cut off?

You can't.

So it's had a machine polish, that hardly confirms how any mods have been carried out.

He's posted about it before, it has had a significant amount of money spent on a full airbag system. It's a carpark queen it seems, spends its time at shows etc hence all of that stuff.

I get that (and know that), my argument here is that he said he likes the look, if it's been done well.

If a new car got posted up with that look, without knowing it's background, would he like it, or not?

You either like the look or you don't, the methods used to achieve it are irrelevant surely?

Might as well do it to a 2.0 TDI instead. Seems a waste of time having a powerful car that has to stop for every bump.

This is the bit I don't get, a 2.0 S-Line gives you all the looks and 'stance' with those sorts of mods, the RS4's strength over the regular model is the parts nobody else ever sees - ie, you, driving it hard, on great roads...

Is it almost time to repeat the big argument about air suspension that happened last time, where youtube reviews said it's good, everyone here said it's bad because they don't like it and people carry on posting nonsense about speed bumps as if they're somehow a problem? :p

Yep!

On the assumption he has driven it to that location it points to the fact its on airbags as the bodywork is perfect.
He would have damaged the car getting it there if it was that low 24/7.
But whatever

If I recall correctly, this is actually the same system as Heofz has fitted.

I certainly wouldn't complain about an RS4 fitted with that.

seen that too, it's a great setup imo! :) especially if you're into that kinda cars, slammed/lowered to an extreme etc.

I love that look and while the wheels are a bit meh from my pov I do like the way the RS4 sits! :)

IMO what ever floats your boat, if you can appreciate the work/money that went into it great, if it's not your thing then at least be nice about it :o
