Show Us Your Motors!

Somebody show us a car.

Your steering wheel still makes me feel uncomfortable. :p

In fact the interior in general doesn't have enough "stuff". Its making me nervous! :p

While that dash is awesome I can see people getting distracted and crashing more often because instead of looking at the road they will be looking at the Nav!

It's pretty great once you get used to it. You then just glance at it like any other factory fitted car sat nav. Nothing new really. :p

Love hate with the TT, it always make me turn head when I see it on the road but there's also a lot of them too, I see far fewer Z4 in comparison.

What engine do you have in yours?

That's the coolest instrument cluster I've seen in a long time.

Acme, a horrible Polo like that is a dreadful way to do 35,000 miles a year. Trust me. You'll want something like an Octavia or Passat 1.9TDI. You said yourself that in the evenings you'll just want to get home. Do you really want to be sitting in a noisy harsh-riding tin can when it's cold and rainy and you 'just want to get home'? It's going to make your comfort and mood that little bit worse.

Sacrifice a few MPG and get something larger.

Please let's not turn this into another massive acme spec thread, not again!

Silver mirrors on the C30... Look good on darker colours but odd with red? Gloss black would look great on that I reckon

Frankly doing 35,000 miles a year unless there is no alternative sounds dreadful anyway and requires serious thought. And the idea that it'll yeild £9500 in mileage claims sounds somewhat fanciful as well, he should check the small print very carefully because most firms have a reduced rate after a certain number of miles. The HMRC at the very least won't you claim that much without tax.

Indeed.

Even if his company is happy for him to clam 45p a mile to a regular place of work, HMRC will consider this as taxable as it will be deemed to be commuting. And then there's the limit of 10k miles before the claimable rate drops anyway.

Just to add to most peoples advice really think about a larger more comfortable car.

My daily commute went from 8 miles to 100.
After a short term with a 3 series which blew up I ended up with my Volvo.

I never get out of the car feeling stiff or with any aches.
Now I am generally all for lowered sporty cars and think to myself at times I should get a more fun car and sacrifice the comfort.

Had an issue with a crack in one of the Volvos wheels so took the wifes lowered Puma to work for 3 days. This is a car I normally like driving at the weekends.
It was horrible driving it for those 3 days and I couldnt wait to get back in my Volvo.

Now yes I'm 31 now so maybe I'm just getting old, but it might be worth doing it in the Corolla for a week to see how that makes you feel before you dont go for a larger barge :)

I like the Sat Nav in that TT. And saying people will crash more because they'll be looking at sat nav rather than the road, have you seen where some retards pur their ****ing sat navs? I see an endless amount either smack bang in the middle of their windscreen or directly above the steering wheel.

Such ****-wits

I am talking to management about changing my contract to include a proper car allowance or a company car. Will see what happens.

I'm not really happy with how they think it is going to work. Contesting several other points including the salary, and hours.

Going to be Mr. Popular, but its their fault for trying to get me to do something so stupid. :p

Any of you guys tried any DIY stone chip kit and how easy is it to do? I have one on the bumper, luckily in a way not on the bonnet as it won't rust. Anyway, has anyone try to do it themselves? I've seen kit on Amazon for about £20 that comes with paint, lacquer, sandpaper and polish etc.

From sitting in Glenn's TT I have to say the mk3 interior really is something. Never been a fan of Audi interiors but they've really turned it around for me in this latest generation.
