Much much prefer the classic Golf on the original wheels.

My only comment is that it looks to be riding a little low for me, i'd prefer the wheels to be centred in those arches a few cm higher than that. Maybe the photo is showing it differently to how it looks in real life.

No offence taken, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that jazz...

I do not keep cars long enough to become emotionally attached, what matters is its a sellers market with these cars so whenever I buy one, its always an investment.

I must say that I am a massive fan of that era of German stuff... My only issue is that while I adore the looks and the character, they don't have the speed to match... :p

161bhp on the rolling road @ 960kg = 168bhp per metric ton.

Its not had much work done, intake, 4 branch manifold to custom stainless, WUR mod, not sure of what cams the car is running but too lumpy for standard.

That lot wouldnt have cost that much to wake up the old 16v lump, tops out at just over 140mph if the driver has the nads to hang it out :D

Its quick enough for a 24 year old motor.

Aren't they supposed to be about 115HP stock? 161 is pretty impressive...

No. None are 115hp.

8v is 112hp and 16v is 139hp, I can only assume N3M's is running an ABF from a mk3/Seat or fairly substantial engine mods to hit 160hp and if it's a genuine 16v it's 980kg not 960kg. :p

Looks good though, a tiny bit low for my liking but it's not far off the ride height of mine, certainly looks better on the standard wheels, I'm not a fan of rubber bands on the others.

E: Missed the list of mods...I'm fairly sure those alone won't get it to 160, I suspect a different cam is in there for sure.

Uhh..speaking of things that should be burned with fire.. :o:D

Looking shiny though I guess!

Gimli that Peugeot, I'm sorry but wow, that's something else! :p

I like the built-in snow plough.

Hahaha, it's not too bad for a first car surely! My options were limited due to insurance being sky high for young, new drivers. :) I quite like it. ;)

I think the 208 was an improvement over Peugeots recent cars. My impression is this is a mix of the old 205 and the newer 207. If my insurance was lower I can't say it would be my first choice though. :D

Every time I see a Peugeot I just can't help but think of the top gear Peugeot feature :p

Series 22 Episode 5? Going to have to watch that. :p
