Show Us Your Motors!

It's a strange thing to do.

Could it not just be he wants to hide his plate whilst still letting us know what year it is? I guess he could hide it all and just say its a MY2016 or whatever.

It is a motors forums after all and it may help with some questions about engine revision or other things that only came in in certain years.

For example I hide my whole plate as it makes me feel happy inside and I always have however if I left the 11 on show you would not have to ask me if my D5 is a 185 or 205 bhp output as you would be able to tell :D (and who doesn't want to know that!)

Didn't they pinch this off the Ford Mustang? I'm sure I've seen similar on one of those.

I've seen the new Ford Mondeo do it, well, at least I'm 90% sure I did.

First time I saw the Audi indicators was on an R8 about 3 years ago. I thought it was cool then, something very R8 like to do. Now I'm not so keen as they seem to be on most models.

He wants the internet to know he has a brand new Audi.

What's with the mass explosion of the word 'salty' lately? It's all over the Internet these last few months, can hardly recall seeing it before then.

Ya, I just don't get covering your plate up.... When thousands of people see it in the flesh every day you drive out on the open roads :p whatever makes people feel comfortable I guess.

Not sure on it's on the origin, but it's certainly apt for the these types of situations where people seemingly get sensitive over something so little.

no one is actually getting sensitive about it, it's just a strange thing to do that's about it :) if you feel like it, do it! I'm just expressing my opinion.

To me, 'salty' means good at fishing or experienced boat captain.....

I really don't like those Audi indicators. I actually find them harder to spot than normal flashers.

Nobody is sensitive, some people just find it amusing when the fact it's a 66 plate or a 65 or whatever is so important to get into the photo that's all :p

First time I've ever heard it in this context, I'm clearly not down with the kids.

Come on, this is the motors sub forum. Why complement somebody when there's room to have a go at them !

Some indicators now seem to be very much style over function, and can be quite hard to spot (when people even bother indicating of course, which seems to be a dying art...)

I liked it when it was only on the a6 and above (well I only ever saw it on the a6 and above) and it looked quite classy. Having it on the a4 and 3 just looks naff though.

It's identical though, so how can be be classy on one car and naff on another - albeit slightly smaller - car?
