Firm but not crashy. Better than the 2008 version one of my friends had and no worse than many of the other small fast hatchbacks I have owned (Clio 182)

It is a small hatchback so you will never get S Class levels of refinement.

All day cleaning, including restoring the soft top back to black, all waxed and sealed until autumn time now though, so I can enjoy it properly!

the mk1 z4 headlights can they be upgraded to the newer ones ?
they do let the car down.

Theoretically yes, but as they're xenons it involves a lot of work either splitting the lights and upgrading internally, or a lot of electrical jiggery-pokery to change the LCM, which is a whole world of pain from what I've read.

Basically, if they were halogens they'd be changed already... as they're xenons they're staying as they are!

Prefer them. In fact I like Invertigo's car better than Grudas' visually. Sorry Grudas! :p
Lol I don't care :D I like roadsters but facelift would be a must for me because the tangoed headlights, tails and indicators would bother me too much!

I've grown to like the tango. Probably goes hand in hand with liking old cars. I re-tango'd the BMW. It had clear lenses and side repeaters when I got it. :p

See, I'd have preferred a facelift for the de-tango but I don't think it looks too bad against the black paint, whereas it looks pretty mediocre on the grey and silver ones, if that makes sense?

That and having experience working on the M54 engine means it's easy to look after myself in service terms.

Figured I'd be better with my budget to get a good pre facelift anyway, rather than a potentially ropey facelift sport

I really dislike small cars & warm/hot hatchbacks in general, but that looks ace!

Thanks!

Lovely little car, does it have the Performance Pack and the mechanical LSD? What did you like/dislike about the 500 compared to the Fiesta ST?

Yes it was one of the options I had to have, along with the 7in Touchscreen. I test drove an Abarth, new Mini JCW and went and sat in a Fiesta ST. The Fiesta just left me quite cold when I sat in it, now I love fast fords but I was looking for something .... more I guess and didn't take up the test drive, obviously they are extremely common also. The Mini was a brilliant bit of kit, lovely interior, solid performance but it was a bit numb to drive and I felt the brakes quite lacking. Not worth the additional premium over the Abarth for me.

I test drove a 140bhp 500 and it just felt like a hyperactive child. Wanting to make loud noises and egging you on to thrash it. I was quite smitten, when I wasn't expecting to like it. Felt it needed more power and then started to look at the Competitzione which is what I eventually ordered. There are lots of little touches that set it apart and make it stand out and most importantly it always seems to beg me to drive it. The ride is firm and has an edge to it when giving it the beans, the diff gives it a little way ward pull on uneven roads making you pay attention and makes you feel like you are making a difference.

Bought it with my heart.

Lol alx how'd I guess you're in Aberdeen?

Grey house. Grey kerb. Grey. Grey.

Haha, yes my flat is in a big granite building - although I maintain it looks impressive in the sun :p

Car has red leather interior if it helps :D
