I wonder if the shape of the rear door wouldnt allow the full width of the window to drop? I'll check it out later and see if there's anything else I spot.

That would be my guess, must have been a late spot in the design process and too costly to solve.

Good looking car externally though.

I guessing that the intrusion from the rear wheel arch would prevent the glass from dropping if the window was full length.

Possibly limits it but more likely to be the door handle package not clearing the glass barrel.

Probably why I've never been particularly bothered with the Lexusishness of them. They do stand out more on darker colours though.
