Few years ago everyone hated 944's, said they aren't "proper Porsche's", you could pick them up for £3000, and nobody looked at them twice.

Now everyone seems to love them again. :p

I think it looks quite smart to be honest.

Nah I'm thinking of the 944. I like them, but I swear most people didn't. Perhaps I'm imagining things... :p

Nope you are spot on, approx 5-7 years ago you could pick up a mint S2 Turbo for as little as £2.5-4k, the same cars are now £10+ and rising. I wanted one back then but couldn't justify a third car, wish I had though.

You would be hard pushed since the S2 turbo was not a model.

Either way i disagree, when i was looking 8 years ago a good turbo was going for 5k and that wasn't mint, the 944 has been in short supply for a good while now and much like the 968 clubsport a 944 turbo S in particular has been a sort after car for over 10 years now.

Yes! Absolutely love these. Looks like a clean one, any more info?

EDIT: prices heading up too... if only I had unlimited storage space (and money)!

Loving that, any more pics?

Some more pictures here http://imgur.com/a/iEdup. They were on my thread on the car but photobucket has blocked my external hosting .

The wheels could do with a refurb but other than that it is pretty good. It hasn't let me down in the last 3 years and it is worth significantly more now compared to what I payed for it. That said that gain has been eaten up in maintenance and running costs (https://www.pistonheads.com/members/showcar.asp?carId=223950). There are quite a lot of 944s out there but most of them are complete piles of crap, mostly down to poor maintenance, and as such good ones are hard to come buy and quite expensive.

As a car to live with everyday it is the perfect everyday classic. It's great fun to drive, is still surprisingly fast, practical (can fit a road bike in the boot with the rear seats down), reliable (as long as you maintain it, it is 26 years old now) and looks bloody cool as well. They are great cars.

Quite, I've kept an eye on them for a similar amount of time, and whilst the prices have been climbing, it's nowhere near as bad as is being made out in posts above!
