Show Us Your Motors!

Hi is this a 130i. If so what's it like to live with?
Yes it is boss. Still early days and quite a step up from a 1.4 Fiesta..
What's immediately apparently is the heavier steering, clutch and gearbox. Might look at a CDV delete at some point, I don't mind a heavy clutch but it's difficult in lower gears to do a smooth change. Will see how I'm fairing in a few months.

Trudding along in high gears is fine but what gets you is the power as it's always there in any gear.

It has run flats which I might change in the near future, on tarmac it is perfectly fine but anything uneven you will feel it!

And can't forget the noise!! Won't be getting tired of it anytime soon but it is quiet with windows up :(

How bad is it on the old mpgz? I'm contemplating purchasing one.

Custom exhaust time!

Maybe, depends on cost as I know BMW do a performance exhaust ;)

Got a list of other jobs to do first, that keeps on growing.

Around 30MPG on the motorway, can't give an accurate figure yet around town but probably between 20 and 25MPG.

It's not bad conpared to some other 6 cylinder engines :)

If it's only doing 30mpg on the motorway there is something wrong with it. That's terrible.

Yeah would have thought so. My 330i did 35mpg on the motorway. That is an auto too. Around town I can imagine it being poor but for motorway that doesn't seem very good.

I doubt there's something wrong with it, I said around 30MPG because I didn't check the trip computer immediately after so made a rough calculation.

I'll have a better idea the more I drive it :) need to remember to use fuelly or an equivalent too.

MPG is the last thing on my mind anyway with this car, but it helps it's not the worst in the world.

If you're in the area you should bring your old man and the AM to the South Eastern meet, it'd be great to see such a car and I'm sure your dad is a great laugh to talk to about cars.

Unfortunately would be too long a trip for us.

Depends how fast 'motorway' is.

Does make a big difference - can get 40mpg from the M135i (8-speed autobox) cruising at 70mph, but start upping the pace and that'll fall off pretty dramatically.

Mine for the weekend with a free tank of fuel. :)

As you can imagine, it's a lot of fun to drive. :)

Those Astra GTC's look really smart on the outside but my god is it a dated interior. How is it to drive?

I've had some of the regular ones in the past and they're pretty good. The HiPer Strut front suspension reduces understeer considerable. The VXR version (240PS, Brembo brakes etc) is on another level. It's almost impossible to drive it without being a hooligan. I will be sad, but it's not such a bad thing that I only have it for the weekend.... I value my licence!
