Main concern for me is gearbox + cooling system, plus as there's no MOT out here it's a lot harder to tell if a potential purchase has been well cared for.

It's from Mariclaro - they do a messenger bag which is more of a satchel as well (i.e. quite a bit smaller). They're all one-off items. Currently they only have one briefcase in stock which is this one. They've got some messenger bags as well, such as this one. It's very well made indeed. Hoping it will last the 10 years of daily use my old Samonsite briefcase lasted.

This one is actually quite rigid, it's not really squashable at all. It just happens to be covered in leather.

Not a huge leap. Motors can get a bit handbags at dawn sometimes.
