I miss my Coupe :(

Awesome cars! :)

Ouch. You had a chance to get that new trim fitted?

it's made out of rubber that lip so it doesn't crack or anything, it was stuck on with 3M tape and held fine for a couple of months, even when scraping.. but a pothole at the pubs car park ripped it off :D

no sadly not, hopefully this weekend! very little time, requires removal of airbag, removal of steering wheel and then refitting all new trim bits.. a good hours worth of work.

First time I removed the airbag from my wheel was a faff, seeing as you can’t see anything you’re completely doing it by feel... and being the first time you don’t know what you’re feeling for! Now though it’s easy as anything.

Quick tip, keep the blade perpendicular to the steering wheel, and use as wide a tip as you can just to give the greatest contact area on the clip.

@grudas

I take it you know how to remove the airbag safely etc.? (Disconnect battery, screwdriver in the holes behind the wheel...)

yeah I've done it before :) I tried taking the spokes off and refurbishing them but the plastic was so brittle it just snapped again.

it's a bit of a faf I agree but I got it out after a few minutes.

Got this for the weekend off my mate as wanted to get some stuff from Ikea. Land Rover Discovery HSE lux with dynamic pack in Montalcino red. I thought the electric folding row 2 and 3 were a bit gimmicky but they are actually really convenient.

Definitely moved more upmarket than Disco 4 and the ride and refinement even better.

Looking after those wheels in the drive-thru

I like everything about the new Disco until you get to that asymmetric rear. Ruins what would otherwise be a good looking car. :(

I will eventually also post what I've just bought in here - not that it's hugely interesting - but just haven't had the time. Leon SC with the 1.4TSI that has ACT and the 7-speed DSG. Averaged 52.5MPG last week in some free-flowing and stop-start traffic on the A1. Quite an upgrade from 32MPG in the Cooper S! :D

How you finding the dsg with the 1.4? I’m tempted by the Leon as there’s some cracking offers at the moment. Seems to be a lot of complaints about it being a bit jerky but could just be user error!

I have had it jerk once or twice, although to be honest I think it was myself who caused it as I'm still getting used to it now. It's an incredibly quiet engine, and you can only tell it's running on two cylinders when the eco symbol appears or if you start going uphill as there is a tiny delay before running on all four. The box itself is incredibly smooth, very fast shifts up and down and works brilliantly when coasting or using engine braking to help when going downhill. It's also excellent when you plant your foot. :)

Coming from my last car I'm used to a hard ride, but having the sports suspension and 18" wheels like I have will be too much for some. The headlights are excellent, as well as the infotainment system. Very easy to use.

Thanks, that’s all good to know :)

I’ll be coming from a 2016 Fiesta ST so the ride will hopefully be better than that!

Need to arrange a few test drives. Was looking at the 1.8 as well but doesn’t look to offer a lore more of the 1.4 and the economy is a fair bit worse.
