Show Us Your Motors!

Bargain  ST equivalent would have been at least 4.5k.
Ive always thought the S40 T5 with the sport bodykit and 18 inch alloys is a cracking looking motor. It has an old school Volvo look while still looking quite fresh.
I searched for one before i got my Focus ST but none with reasonable mileage ever came up for sale they are so rare. There’s a nice blue 2009 59 plate T5 on AT at the minute for 5k which is 2 years newer than what a ST Would be at that price I would have been all over it if I had of sold my Mondeo.

I agree, I went and test drove an ST, it had done 100k and was £5k! Didn't have half the toys of the S40 either. Given they're all built on the same platform (Focus/Mazda) it's 80% an ST anyway.

We've got another S40 T5 R-Design in the family which is nice, mine is the pre-facelift so a little less lairy styling wise, though the bumpers can be swapped around easily enough if need be.

Trying not to go as crazy as I did on my T4 with this and just leave it as standard for a bit but I'm sure I'll cave sooner or later and start modifying again.

What is it with BMW and the kidney grills and the M sport badges everywhere and the same radio 1-8 buttons from a 1 series in a 7 series and stuck on screens.
What is it with Mercedes and their rounded headlights and tailights and interior stuck on LCD monitors and fake exhausts.
What is it with Lexus and their odd interiors and their massive grills and fake exhausts and interior screen surrounds.

The Audi silver shape repetition is too much - what are they going to put in a hexagon shape next, the steering wheel and alloy wheels ?!?! Maybe the designer also wears hexagon shaped glasses :p

I've no idea why but the exhaust thing drives me up the wall. It's just so crap.

I was really disappointing to see BMW join the party with the G30, a 520d with the sort of exhaust only a 550i had in the F10? Really? At least the 550i had a real exhaust too rather than crap plastic trims with ordinary pipes hidden behind.

Cars look so much nicer with real exhausts that poke through the bumper.

Weirdly the best looking exhaust on the G30 now seems to be the 520d SE which has 535i style conventional pipes either side

That's just the design language though, most look like they won't offend anyone however there's always the exception :p

Don't like it don't buy it

Picked up my new toy recently to replace my fairly highly modded Volvo S40 T4 that was unfortunately written off by some silly women!

It needed the cambelt and other belts doing which costs quite a bit, fortunately I have family at Volvo who can do this cheap so used it as a good haggling point, also wasn't boosting properly on test drive but I was 99% certain it was just the £40 turbo control valve, so haggled a bit more off it.

Could also be the vac hoses, especially if the engine feel like its cuts out at higher boost or doesn't reach max boost. Great car though, really like the P2 chassis Volvos as they look fantastic and have some great engines.

Modern front bumpers are crazy, 99% grille, 1% bumper. I guess it's due to pedestrian safety but it still looks like they'd be chopped up into grille-shaped chunks!

the front pic is at my current place, the others at my devon location hence the change of scenery.. had it 5 weeks and not took it to a car wash once yet lol, havent had the time.
