Show Us Your Motors!

Cheers mate. Yeah, im not a heavy footed driver in general, and the MPG is damn good! And apparently will get better as the engine gets a few more miles on the clock! Hope its true, that would be awesome!

Went for a metalic grey in the end, it reacts to the light so can appear lighter or darker, lots of comments about the quirky and nice looking nature of the car from the garage and the taxi driver who took me there ^-^.

Constancy? That's a new one for me!

Constancy? That's a new one for me!

New for me too, two tyres were replaced for mot passing on the cheap it seems as the rears were Michelin ps 4. So on Saturday I am getting a fresh pair of ps4 tyres on the front to join the rear. Annoyingly the wheel place swapped them so I'll have to get the tyre place to swap them back!

New tyres should go on the rear anyway, so I wouldn't bother getting the tyre place to move the front PS4s.

It's a front wheel drive so I thought the freshest tyres should go on the front where the wear will be harshest and the older ones to the rear? If I have that wrong please let me know, I'm no expert on this.

Most grip should be on the rear as oversteer is more difficult to control than understeer.

Newest tyres should always go on the rear, regardless of which wheels are driven.

Aqua planing is the big risk so you want more tread on the rear where there is less weight. Nothing worse than hitting standing water and losing the rear end.

This theory of more tread meaning more grip is rubbish. But then I guess it’s Chris ’more cars than hot dinners’ saying it

I do understand the reasoning behind having the best tyres on the rear, but I usually put the new tyres on the front so that I can make the most of the grip level.
Not relevant if they are the same brand/model as the other pair though I suppose...

For example on my Corolla now I have a pair of PZero Nero's on the back (one with 4mm tread, one with 5.5mm tread) and I bought a pair of Pilot Sport 3's and put them on the front, because they are a far better tyre and I wanted the grippy ones on the front.

The reasoning is that it's easier to control understeer than it is oversteer. But I must admit, when I get new tyres they go on the end that wore out.
