They slapped some el-cheapo tyres on the front to sell my car but it has some still decent pro sport 4s on the back. So i've got a couple new ones to match coming in a week :)

So had the wheels done by Shropshire Powder Coaters today, same day turn around, incredible service and fantastic quality workmanship. Unlike some other wheel shops they go through a few extra process, first left to soak in chemicals to strip, then pressure cleaned, they are then hand/tool sanded down to remove any remaining curbing, scratches etc, they are then aqua jetted, dried, then baked to sweat out any remaining chemicals. They are then primed, baked, cooled, painted, baked, cool and finally lacquer, baked and cooled, then fitment. Same day turn around on a weekday is £340, more on a Saturday or Sunday.

I also used opportunity, to paint calipers, cleaned down the arches and underside as they allowed me use of their ramp, so I was able to clean the underside, paint calipers, clean arches etc. There is a lot more pictures in my project thread. :)

Love the C63, just wish it had bigger arches like the CLK Black :( They're too narrow for dat engine.

Thanks!

Yeah the rear could do with fattening out alittle, that’s what the Black Series is for I guess.

However a Black series C63 goes for around the £100k mark!

Some less tasteful C63 owners buy knock off Black Series kits and put them on stock C63’s. Some look ok, most don’t unspurisingly.

One week in and thoroughly pleased with the upgrade from the Mk2. Especially enjoying the DSG box, considerably more relaxing for the commute and more engaging than I had expected when taking the car out just for a drive. Hugely impressed with the economy too, first fill-to-fill average was 39.7mpg according to Fuelio (the car reckoned 41mpg) - as you would expect in the first week of ownership, there was a good amount of exploring the car amongst those miles!

As with the previous black one though, white is not a forgiving colour when it comes to dirt - an early morning clean is on the agenda for tomorrow.

I wasn't keen on the facelift front when it was released but its definitely grown on me, enough that that it didn't put me off the 245 edition rather than a 230 prefacelift :p
