As in worse yeah? Better designed means you take away similar levels of lift for reduced drag. Eg. Idea of canards is to keep the nose down, nothing to do with mpg.
citroenet.org.uk said:The drag of the Citroën GSA X3 has been reduced by the addition of a forward spoiler (which acts as a deflector and reduces the air-flow under the body) and of an aerofoil beneath the rear window (which reduces drag by modifying the rear lift characteristics), and by fitting a better streamlined rear-view mirror. The spoiler improves the CxS by 2.7 %, the aerofoil by 7.5 %. Both together improve the CxS by 10 % and reduce petrol consumption by 7.5 % at 120 km/h (74.6 mph).
Canards are there for downforce at the expense of drag
Hahahahahha, you're funny. The A45 is probably faster, so I guess the aero is justified. Also has room in the back for shopping.
My original post was talking about the aero package in general - Jonnycoupe introduced canards into the reply to me. Potentially anything like that though can have an impact on MPG including positive. Yes canards like that are primarily in the vast majority of cases about downforce.
U wot m8.
Ban Gibbo, it's show us your motors. You don't own it yet. Get to the back. No cookie for you.
