It will be getting new tyres lol.

And yes I did find the bit about the slick50 snake oil quite funny, but people who believe in it generally aren't the same people that rag a car around. At least thats what I'm saying to make myself feel better. :D

I always thought that people who used Slick50 didn't believe in regular oil changes.

Enjoy your new Volvo with 5 litres of free treacle in the sump :D

Thankyou. :D

If the sump is full of goo I will gladly post a picture for you to enjoy.

I only want it because of this really.

Main thing I want to find out is if it has had a clutch. Because at 150K if it hasn't, it might well need one soon, and I don't want to get it mapped if it has its original clutch really.

I'm assuming that if an old clutch "feels" fine and bites well, putting another 50lb/ft through the drivetrain may well still kill it dead and cause it to slip? What are peoples experiences?

The off the shelf maps take it from about 240lb/ft to about 290lb/ft.

I can't see the point in tuning up old tired cars when it's a daily driver. It will quickly discover any faults and make some new ones.

Owned 4 years now. Remapped to 270BHP 420NM. Currently on 150K. Paid less than 2 grand and a little bit of garage tinkering. Currently needs a new gearbox as it lunched 5th but got a new one coming for £100.

I only want over 30 on a motorway jaunt, I'm sure the combined will indeed be low 20's, but it's been the same with most of the cars I've had. E30 averages 25. Toyotas all averaged about 25. Mx5's 29 ish.

18 - 20 around town is fine as long at it does over 30 on a run. People's experiences online ar that they will easily break 35mpg if you cruise at 65 etc. Which is perfect

You can get over 30mpg on the motorway easily if you stay under 70mph, 60mph if you can manage it but it is easily achievable if you are disciplined.

I've driven mine 3 years, 34k miles on it and average mpg of the car is 28.8mpg and mine is only a 5 speed auto. So I would expect an average of 30mpg easily done.

p.s. I don't have a heavy right foot :p
