Jesus wept, no car deserves that. Get it cleaned, man. Changing the battery is incredibly easy, and batterymegastore normally has very competitive prices.

Does the crank speed seem normal to you or slow? Slow means dead battery as you expect, but normal means you may have issues with spark or fuel.

Haha i do plan on cleaning it out at some point. I might just drop it off at one of those places who charge £15 and see their faces :D

Will check that site out for batteries, is there anything particular i should look out for, spec wise?

To be honest i'd not noticed. The RAC guy jump started it and it seems to be holding a charge for the time being. I'm going to give it a run at dinner because when i went a little down that lane there was some horrific rubbing noises from the rear every time i braked.

Why would you just dump it on the road for that long?

How would you feel if a neighbour dumped a mouldy car outside your house? :p

Would only have taken 10 minutes a month to keep it looking respectable.

That noise will be all the crap/dirt between the pad and the rusty disc or the handbrake seized. :p

It's outside my own house to be fair and no neighbours have to see it because it's a private road so no-one really goes down it beyond dog walkers.

When i head out later i'll get some interior shots for you all. It's even worse!

And it's this attitude to cars that is the reason i've not replaced the car with something nicer. One of the dog walkers who comes down the lane actually mentioned to me that it looks like it's been abandoned for months. Although you can see my wifes car behind that looks well looked after.

Well, it does look abandoned. Or like a mouldy diesel peugeot used as farmyard transportation.

... Give ya two bags for it, but only if you don't clean it before I pick it up. :p

It's been driven ocasionally including a fair few lengthy trips, just never washed. I changed the oil/filter etc about a month ago too. In fact, i did wash it around June time i think. I've got the Autoglym Polar stuff, but it only takes a week under the trees and it's a mess again. Although admittedly it's now been 4 months :p

The inside is proper grim. Just absolutely full of mud/sand/sawdust/leaves. The issue with running up boggy marshes and storing paddle board stuff that gets full of sand/insects from rivers. It also gets used for tip runs and collecting wood.

Battery has been ordered. Fingers crossed i've got the right fitment. This should be fun. I'm such a cheap *******.

So yesterday I spotted a set of wheels for the Clio that might work a little better than the Ford Focus wheels I currently have on it. The problem with original wheels is the offset keeps the wheels too far into the arches. And since I hate spacers, it's a case of changing the wheels. So here is a picture with the Focus wheels...

Not to everyone's liking I admit. But I don't mind them. With that said, I would prefer Renault wheels rather than Ford on this.

So, quick trial fitment before getting them refurbished. Look ok...

Should look a lot better once done in Anthracite or similar.
