Unfortunately they cost a lot to look after with the amount of rust you can get around the rear (and everywhere!). Not many people are dedicated enough to give them the love they need.

In 2008 I waxoyled mine, then again in 2018 I Dinitrol it. I have got a tiny area of rust on an arch lip, however otherwise the car is pretty rust free. That said the car now needs a respray, this is issue with Red Honda's!

In 2008 when I waxoyl I also used clear with a compressor, fired it inside the engine bay, bonnet, and inside rear sills, it was coming out of holes like vaper. For a month the car stank and had to drive around with windows open, doing this in 2008 maybe saved a lot of rust.

The only things that ever really went were rear callipers that seized up, and had to get remanufactured callipers put on, I also had a slave brake cylinder go. Otherwise it's been a cheap car to run.

No disrespect to the following cars as they always did me fine, but after years of owning a Vauxhall Cavalier, Vectra, Ford Sierra, Escort and a Toyota Corolla I am still having "OMG I actually have an Audi!" moments from time to time.

And here is also said car at Oulton Park. Other then 96 JDM manifold engine is stock, this really is how they rev and sound from factory :)

Also if anyone is wondering this is 100% stock springs / dampers / bushes, there just as they left the factory in 1999. If you ever read a forum post about Integra handling being overrated it's always from someone not knowing what their talking about :-)

Yes I love that sort of engine. Never owned Type R of any description, but driven an ATR and an EP3 CTR. Personally I've just had Toyotas with 2ZZ's which have similar characteristics. Originally because they were cheaper to insure, but at this point its just because I like them... Haha

I would love an S2000 because it combines two of my favourite things, RWD convertible and silly revvy 4 cylinder, but prices are going a bit cuckoo.

It's interesting, I've been doing track days for years, and increasingly cars don't sound like they use to. You don't hear the 80/90's high revving engine the same, as younger drivers are moving to modern turbo cars.

I have a good mate who has a modified Accord Type R for track, very underrated car, however also bullet proof, even more then the Integra.

S2000 another underrated car, engine / gearbox feels very similar to my Integra, however being RWD different handling characteristics.
 
lol, first few seconds in made it look like you checked your watch to see if it was time to change gear soon.

It was late in the day, and I was checking what time was left before track shut. Late in day is always best to get good laps in, as less traffic.

Changing gear in a DC2 you aim for rev counter hitting edge 9k, you have the briefest moment to change before fuel cut off kicks in :)

Staying in "lift" between 1st and 2nd with a 2ZZ and standard gearbox is an art which takes a while to perfect. Changing gear at the redline "quickly" isnt enough, you drop below 6000RPM and re-enter snail mode... You have to shift just as it is about to reach (or bumps) the rev limiter, then slip the clutch ever so slightly. :p

Thats only 8250RPM though. 9000 would be lovely. :D

Fuel cut of is at least 8400, some people say they have measured at over 8600, but for sake of argument I'll just say it's 8400. The rev counter does over read, whatever the actual fuel cut of is it's still pretty frantic for a production car :)
 

Reminds me immensely of when I lived in Edinburgh for college. I had my DC5, a mate with an EK9 and another with an EP3. Our weekly jaunts into the borders and surrounding areas were arguably some of my favourite driving memories.

I keep trying to convince the missus that I need either an S2000 or another DC5 but I don't think I'm getting anywhere yet... :p

I know someone with a modified DC5, mapped, correctly setup suspension, intake and exhaust manifold, air-box. That DC5 is so fast, if you could imagine a FWD Evo, it would be a modified DC5 - when I say fast only have to add a cage and you could race the car.
