Thanks, its been around 10 years since I had a car I cared about so I need to refine my washing technique again.
Scary thought actually thinking I sold my Monaro around 10 years ago!
Coming up to 3 years ownership and still very happy with the car. Occasionally I consider what I’d replace this with but decide that the cost to get something that feels a lot better than this is not worth it. 0-60 in 5.8s is also plenty on today’s roads.
Wife still wants to buy the latest MX5 in the next 12-18 months after she has opened her hair salon. Makes sense since she is a hairdresser.
Finger over the lens
Is that the 2L 252ps petrol?
Looking at that engine and working out if the upgrade to the S4 is worth it.
Yea the 252ps TFSI Quattro, it’s very capable and plenty quick. The S4 has a V6 so I’d go for that if budget gets you a nice one. My A4 is really well specced being an Audi press car.
Like you, I can see it being one of those cars that’s enough for everything, making you question if you ever need any more.
Absolutely. When I’m out with my family I drive quite sedately so extra power would make no difference. Occasionally I’ll use the full power but it’s not often enough that I crave for more, legal speeds disappear quick enough.
I assume you’ll be test driving both?
If it matters, the S4 will likely be priced higher but depreciate slower. Especially if you're putting few miles on it. I went from a 250ps Jaguar XE thinking it was my end game for power and comfort but I'm so glad I have the 400hp E43 now. Famous last words but there's no way I'll need more than 400...250 was fun but just left you wanting a tad more.Budget would allow but it’s a fair difference in cost - just need to work out if it’s worth it.
I’m addition, the avant is fairly rare in S4 format, pushing the price further - I would much prefer the avant given how practical estates are.

I'd be interested to know tbh.I do love the attempt at showing a front number plate on the Orange Lambo Doubt (legally) there's much difference between that and not having one at all haha
