Brave but good work. Still a cracking looking car. So much to go wrong but so much fun when working well.Bought a TVR T350C a few weeks ago, been enjoying the nice weather.
I think the word brave was suitable for when you were buying a brand new TVR from that era, but surely no one now buys a TVR without going in with their eyes wide open. Everything that can and will go wrong is so well documented.Brave but good work. Still a cracking looking car. So much to go wrong but so much fun when working well.
Engine rebuilds are a matter of course for any speed 6 powered TVR. I believe something like every 40k miles.True, but unfortunately some of those things that go wrong result in engine rebuilds being required. So I would still call it brave.
Now I know why they're so rare, that's crazy... Might as well go for a rotaryEngine rebuilds are a matter of course for any speed 6 powered TVR. I believe something like every 40k miles.
Yes you are right for the most part. All of the common issues are very well known by all the specialist, so its important to get it checked by a specialist before buying. This is the only car I've ever paid someone else to inspect. The first one I went to see seemed fine to me, but the guy who went to inspect it said it was not the best shape. This was the second one I went to see and when I got it inspected, the guy just said I'll send you the report as usual, but just buy it as it one of the better examples he'ed seen for a while.I think the word brave was suitable for when you were buying a brand new TVR from that era, but surely no one now buys a TVR without going in with their eyes wide open. A rebuild was high on my want list although I really wanted a a rebuilt 3.6 or 4.0, this one has the powers performance 4.3l upgrade in 2015 and the car has only done 6000 miles since. The service history before the rebuild didn't seem brilliant, but since its been rebuild the history is all well documented.Strongly considering a Tuscan/T350c to replace the 4C next year. Seems to me if they've got this far they're probably sorted, most have already been rebuilt and lots are now 4.3/4.6 which is even more enticing. Just need a bloody garage first!
It really depends on many factors like how its driven, was it warmed up properly, has it overheated, has it been serviced enough, was the engine built by baz on Friday when he just slapped it together so he could get off to the pub.Now I know why they're so rare, that's crazy... New motor for the missus, bit of a change swapped a 5L V8 for 1.5L Hybrid

Reliability on RR stuff seems hit and miss
We've had a few little things go on ours:
but everything was fixed under warrantee with no argument so not too bad for 6 years although in comparison my Leon of the same age (which does about 3x the miles) has just had routine maintenance.
- wheel speed sensor failed which apparently defaults to fully on so was reading 256kmh which in turn throws all the stability etc off
- bonnet sensor failed so the car wouldn't lock (?!?)
- a top mount cracked and a turbo hose cracked
Snap, rear passenger side per chance? been spot-on otherwise (touch wood). We've had a few little things go on ours:

Yep, 1.5-litre three-cylinder Ingenium engine producing 197bhp going to the front wheels, plus a 107bhp electric motor going to the rear. Output is 304bhp, 540Nm of torque and 0-60mph in 6.1 secs. Not too bad for a small SUV.Looks nice to me, but are you saying there is just a 1.5l engine in it???

It's a big change from her GT but to be honest on the roads around here you really struggled to open that up and make use of the power.
The Evoque feels quit nippy and the MPG is insane compared to all our previous cars.
