Hmm I like the engine out the box on the E9X M3, sounds all V8-y

But, big but, The S54 just sounds much more of a sporty engine with the carbon airbox, and arguably a bit louder/more vocal - just without the v8 rumble of course. And it revs to 8000rpm (mine goes to 8300rpm because of the Evolve map).
You should hear the E92 V8 with said airbox!!!

Hi there

So I finally got the Corvette sitting how I wanted it, absolutely transformed the way the car looks for me, done the red neck way by lobbing a coil from the front springs, AC has also all been pulled out so now with rear composite spring the car is close to 100kg lighter than it was, no negatives to the way it drives, in fact the steering feels a little more positive and the car feels more stable at high speeds.

44 years old and driving superb and still looking spotless. The mechanic who did the work for me loves the car so much he even machine waxed the car for me. I'd never recommend anyone to cut springs but the springs were quite new and are very long been an old car, he cut exactly one full coil to ensure the springs sit correctly in their housing and to not create any issues, he also re-greased the entire front end whilst at and tweaked the rear ride height to where I wanted it as the rear is adjustable and very easy to do. With the Bilstein dampers, composite rear spring the car feels absolute fine to pedal down a smooth b-road at 70mph, it is only on bumpy stuff where these older cars can suffer a lot of bump steer, but for a 44 year old car it handles remarkably well and since all the work I did the car still remains totally leak free, will be ticking over 50,000 miles soon as well. :)

Hope you don't get caught in traffic in the summer without that AC now :p

It was removed as it was no longer working and needed to much work to bring it alive, car has T-Tops which help with Summer heat but generally I don't go out when its above 25c outside, which in the UK is also very rare.

I have a shortlist of wheels in the back of my mind/written down that I may go too. These are 16's and would probably go to 17's. I don't want to go too big, I feel it ruins the 7. But I have a few other things to spend money on first before dropping a not inconiderable amount of money on wheels :D

Would look good with black wheels IMO, you could get yours resprayed.

@Jonnycoupe do you just have deep pockets or is there a story to getting a Defender? They are outrageously expensive; I'd really love one. Maybe they'll hit the JLR privilege scheme again one day.
