Just had a weekend away driving the Peaks, Yorkshire Dales and Pennines, with some very good friends. Some amazing roads and great memories were made. Got some great photos too, here is a few of the many....

Recognise Buttertubs there? Some fantastic roads around that part of the country,

Yep that's Buttertubs, we did the lot! Stayed outside Maccelsfield, got up early and did Cat and Fiddle, Winnats Pass, Snake Pass, Holme Moss Summit, Ribblehead Viaduct, Buttertubs, Tan Hill Inn, then up to Penrith for fuel and on to the Hartside Pass and a selection of roads in the Pennines. Stayed near Darlington overnight then headed back down south the next day, with one last Pennines drive on the way down, it was awesome, 890 mile round trip! :D

Sorry, not sure what you mean. :)

Seemed like a Photographer was hiding in the bushes, on-call all day.
There is a Vantage in there somewhere! Was 11 cars all in, several Golf's, M2, M135i, S3, Z4 and an A class.

The Peaks were great, Snake Pass and Holme Moss Summit were the stand outs. Cat and Fiddle was good, a shame about the average speed cameras.

The Pennines were something else though, stunning in everyway.

It is a shame, I can see why though as during the summer periods the roads became almost like a Track Day... Plenty of Motorcyclists ended up killed too.

Still the roads can be plenty of fun, there are still area's that you are okay in but have to keep an eye out.

Ah I get you, well actually the photos were taken by one of the guys wife who was in the passenger seat with him, she was snapping away, doing rolling shots etc. Hence the photos, I didn't take them! :)

Yes I had read that bikers were doing their best to hurt themselves, hence the cameras. Still a great bit of road though.

Nice. 40 or 35?
Why's it got the pre-LCI grille but the LCI lights?

/edit I see now. Pre LCI car. Fogs give it away as they're not round.
Cheers, it’s the 540i with the 6 speed manual option . Same gearbox from the M5

Not sure on the lights must have been upgraded. I’ll have to fit facelift rear lights too to modernise the back

The wifes new car

She's been driving a very basic 2007 Renault Clio for the last 6 years which was falling apart, so we got this as her new commuter. I'm not really into small cars but I really enjoy driving it so far :)

I also replaced my S40 T5 with another T5.... joining @Raymond Lin with a quirky C30. It's a little 'chavved up' from the previous owner but immaculate inside and out and very well looked after - It's becoming quite hard to find a tidy T5 these days.

CLEANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN rear end on that T5. The wiper shave has really transformed the rear end /s :D
I really don't know why they do it  I've joined a few of the FB pages for these cars and almost all of them have the rear wiper delete.

Coming from an S40, I was quite looking forward to having a rear wiper - It'll be going back on!

There's something very satisfying about a car that was once £40k(?) that is now £1400. It's inevitably a bit rough around the edges but I love bringing a cheap car up to scratch and getting it back to it's best.

surprisingly very good, air con needs gassing will sort that.
clutch gearbox no leaks on engine seems all fine.
nearly new 4 tyres and brakes loads on them front and back.

inside very clean been looked after 189k on the clock is the reason for the low price i guess but she runs well.
will get some proper pics inside and out when its not raining down :)

Good find! I was looking for some time but hadn’t come across one in good condition or non-LOL miles in months.
