That is lovely - I have the same seats on my G11, they are superb. You probably know this, but you can tilt the upper half of the backrest by pressing the button on the backrest tilt control. I never knew it was there until I pressed it by mistake!

Exactly why the m550i is the right choice over an m5 :D

It's actually a very relaxing drive, the reviews place the m550i as a car that is phenomenally quick you want it to be, but is supremely comfortable with amazing seats and is a very smooth drive. The M5C has a far more urgency, and makes you WANT to drive quickly, all of the time. Which sound dangerous. Especially as that has another 100bhp...

Doh, of course! :p

I'm sure it is very relaxing, but I know that if I owned one, I'd get that naughty feeling of knowing I could deploy 500+ BHP coming out of any slip road/roundabout and I KNOW I don't have the will power to say no :D

Any plans for ceramic/detail? I'm in the area every now and then - give me a shout if you want to spend a day on it to really bring out the colour

Yes, they are incredible seats indeed! Shame they weren't an option on the m5. I did know about that but thank you :)

TBH I've grown used to this level of power a bit, as it's basically identical to my wife's Model Y performance at 530bhp that I drive more than she does, both are mid 3 to 60 etc, but that's obviously far more responsive so actually easier to go quicker in!

Yes you do let them rip from time to time, but I'm surrounded by fast roads and go around MK quite often, so can use that 30-70(ish) burst that is quite addictive on both of them :)

MK is great for it, but passenger side tyres struggle after a while :P

It's amazing how quickly one gets used to the added power.

Took my new (to me) little Clio up to Caffeine & Machine yesterday, great fun on the country roads chasing my friend in his Ford racing puma. Confirmed I made the right move for a little fun car that can be used around town etc but also for fun drives when I don't want to take the other toy out.

Nice! Was considering something like this myself

Doing it right with the grandad spec! Same colours as my old man's 330i :p
Looks awesome; enjoy!

The only move really, you've made the right decision. Hope the dealer plays nicely with the deposit return
:)

Edit : wasn't going to post this as don't like drama....but i did have a problem getting my deposit back. the dealer in question asked for my bank details last monday and once sent i found out yesterday (3 days after giving him my bank details) he still hadn't refunded me. i chased it up yesterday evening, only then did he refund me along with a slightly strange/cocky remark to go with it. glad i never gave him 10k of my cash now.

after the comments here and what ive read online i've been put off older amg's, seems like even "good" low miles/low owners examples usually need big money spending on them. i can up my budget but it won't be for an older amg.

i've been looking at these :

U4Cdzk1.png

jaguar xkr 5.0L supercharged. this 1's on ebay for 18k, i've contacted the owner for details etc. 500bhp standard. from my brief research into them they seem to have a good rep for reliability, certainly much better than the SL55 amg's. anyone have any experience or know anything about them?

Cross-post with the BMW thread...

Sold my 440i MPPSK GC to cazoo, and have replaced it with an MY 2021 m550i, which is an LCI G30.

And of course obligatory exhaust videos:

4.4l twin turbo v8, 530bhp, 0-60 c. 3.5s.

Aventurin II individual paint (very interesting paint, it can be a VERY dark maroon in dull lighting but in direct sunlight it's a fantastically vibrant red)
Comfort pack with ivory nappa comfort seats
Cerium grey grills/mirrors (NOT black like most of them have, which was a hard no!)
Tech plus pack so HUD, driving assistant professional (radar cruise, self-steering, auto lane changing etc - so far it seems far better than autopilot on my wife's Model Y performance, especially in slower moving traffic!), surround cameras, HK audio etc
adaptive LED headlights with beam splitting etc.

70 plate, 7.5k miles

I did look an m5 competition instead, but as a 6'4 ~220lb broad shouldered chap, I did not get on at all with the excessive wings on the "buckets". Didn't even bother taking it out as i was uncomfortable before i'd even moved!

Anyway, 530bhp is more than enough for a practical car....

Stunning car, absolutely lovely colour combination and spec, better than most new BMWs thats for sure!

And it doesn't have the giant ugly grille!

Good taste. Hope it treats you well.

I've had Clio 172/197/200

All have been fantastic fun little cars. They're great value for money the 197/200 ATM!
