I'm a bit annoyed with my wheels though. Never hit them, not a mark, but they are starting to show signs of corrosion or oxidisation (if that's the correct term)

Should that be covered under warranty? I'm guessing not but to no fault of my own, the wheels are starting to go

Worth a try asking the dealer, nothing to lose?

Heard numerous cases of OEM Diamond Cut wheels having the same issues.

I think the only steps that you can take to reduce or avoid this type of corrosion completely is to be OCD with cleaning them. It appears this type of finish cannot handle being left heavily soiled for extended periods, especially during winter periods where the roads are salted heavily.

Wheel Sealant, Acid Free Wheel Cleaners ONLY.

Not sure if Iron Removers contribute as they can be harsh but if you have any kind of brake dust which isn’t removed with the above steps then I imagine leaving it to eat away at the clear cost is no good either.

The last 3 manufacturers I’ve worked for (Merc, Audi, Toyota/Lexus) have all honoured the warranty when it comes to replacing wheels due to corrosion.
We used to take pics of the wheels, then submit a warranty claim, and when it was approved get the customer in and replace them.
Any wheels that were damaged were rejected.

That's quite promising, I appreciate your input. Like someone else said, no harm in asking. It's 2 mins up the road may just drive it in and see

First time I've had a minute to get the evo out since fitting the Ohlins. Had to drop the TE37s as they were simply too aggressive an offset. Back on the stock wheels and fresh Cup2s.
Totally different car, a lot more confidence in it from behind the wheel. Plus it rides like an actual road car now lol.

The car is so much fun, took me a little while to get climatised to 500hp in a tin can again, though.

nice Colour Chris
bet your happy with that correction, looks perfect
Thanks. It's only been back for a thorough clean and correction on some panels, it was coated last year. Looks like some idiot (me) didn't clean it properly at some point, so I'm going down the contactless washing method from now on.

How do you like the i3? Range extender or pure EV?
i3S 120Ah. Upgraded from an old BEV 60Ah.
Range is excellent (over 300km in this warm weather), but the suspension is absolutely appalling. How BMW can let something with such awful damping leave the factory boggles the mind.
It handles like a go-kart and is much more stable on the motorway, whereas the old one would wobble all over the place. But **** me the ride is awful!
