Show Us Your Motors!

This was very rusty but we brought it back to life. Been driving it around quite a bit in between bodyshop visits and surprisingly nothing mechanical has gone wrong.

I think VW have really nailed the styling of these, appealing.
I agree but I think it's a bit too useless w.r.t. modern day expectations of a camper so it doesn't quite bring all of the charm of the original bus. Not sure it was meant to to be fair but feels like it could have been something even more practical and special but they've played their card now.

I'm envious. I drove one around Mercedes-Benz Brooklands' circuit a few months ago, and it's an incredible piece of kit. The way it just grips and grips endlessly around corners is mind-boggling.

They told me at Brooklands that they replace the brake pads every few days, lol. The tyres only last a week.
Thanks mate. I had a W176 A45 prior to this and as fun as that was it was very 'raw' and hardly what you could call refined.

The W177 on the other hand is a different animal. Savage when pushed hard but refined and comfortable when using it as a daily driver.

Its like everything in life, you get out of it what you put in. And as it has the space I am currently in the process of making some slides to roll my bikes in and out that I can remove and keep in the garage and I shall also make one to hold a drop out kitchen (portable mini stove and sink none plumbed sink) for those rare occasions when I go camping with the little one. Its footprint is rangerover-esque offering heaps more space and without feeling like your both the weapon and driving the weapon on the road.

Very happy with it.

I did have a look at these. But didn't think I could cope with the loss of space moving from my T6.1 Caravelle. They really do just feel smaller. But for sure do look nice.

I'm in two minds about whether I want VW to make a Caravelle equivalent in the T7 or keep with this smaller MQB platform "multivan" approach. It would be nice to upgrade to some more modern tech, but then again, if my current T6.1 is "peak" Caravelle, (similar to how I consider my current mk7.5 Golf R to be "peak" Golf), then it might help keep residuals up a bit, ha ha.

I think your on to something by keeping it to be fair, keep it long enough and it’ll become retro driving the pricing up, you might have to wait a while though.

Had the 600 LT Spider properly aligned, full tank of fuel and car weighed in at 1441kg which is 416HP per tonne with cross weights of 49.38 - 50.62.

Impressive considering mine is a full weight Spider with the more comfortable and heavier P1 bucket seats, upgraded sound system along with front lifter and nicer wheels.

So in theory a coupe with Senna seats and no added stuff like stereo, lifter probably weighs in around 1350kg.

McLaren advantage lack of weight and hydraulic steering, nothing else come close to the experience really especially with a hard folding roof. :)

Fitted some AP Racing 2pc larger 330mm floating disc along with carbotech XP8 pads and braided lines all around with RBF600 and the brakes are sensation. McLaren stopping power and easily an equal now to my Exige was for repetitive high speed stops cannot wait to get it back on track.

Huge huge confidence in the brakes now absolutely stonking performance especially on a dry day like today and with Cup2 rubber the way this sub 1100kg car stops is mind bending, the de-acceleration is painful but good.

Another epic blast around Wales, huge fun today in this little French rocket ship! :D

Mate in M5 Comp can’t believe just how quick it is especially on tighter b roads easily one of the very best cars made for a British B road!

Late to the party as I've been away, where is this? Looks like a great photo spot! Love the Alpine too.
