A year on with the very rare velvet purple Audi R8 manual and it’s not had a single issue just a thirst for Vpower:

Brilliant all rounder with amazing sound track, great gearbox and feels properly quick but ain’t that quick hence pretty safe to drive hard without fear of jail time.

Compared the R8 to my Alpine and GR:

Got given this on the weekend.

Brand new 74 plate DAF XG. Only 3k miles on the clock. Compared to the old DAF XF this is like stepping into a new millennium as the old cab was based on a 90's design. Android Auto, all the mirrors are cameras now, LED headlights, digi dash and the cab is also a lot more roomier due to new regs on truck dimensions. Really nice bit of kit.

Parked up near the old Bromley by Bow Gas Works in East London.

Par for the course when you are in London. I was waiting to get into a yard and like 99% of places in London they have zero capacity. I was third in line on that photo. :D
I'm surprised you found anywhere to park a 54' wagon yellow lines or not! :D

Just hope the electrical gremlins stay away, I've got a mate in one of these, he loves it but it's plagued by electrical problems - just like his old XF unfortunately.

They are a definite improvement on the older model though, enjoy! :)

Are they fully auto now @adam cool dude ? Must be a far more relaxing job than previously? Although I guess all the stress is shunting into dodgy places etc which is there regardless of how calm the cabin is.

Yes the DAF's gearbox is tuned for economy in auto though so I normally just run it in manual and change up and down with the stalk like a DSG if I need to get going. Scania's you just squeeze and go and they just fly. The job is only stressful if you let it get to you. Ignoring the plebs on the road is the hardest thing to master but once you can do it the job is great.

Looking pretty dirty but I quite like it, absolute nightmare trying to get it cleaned when its dark in the morning and dark leaving work. Doesn't help the washer jets hardly schoosh (think the water pump is gone).

Par for the course with old BMWs! I was always chasing these issues. Happened on a couple of Minis we had too.

Do like tha E46 vert!
