Show Us Your Motors!

I only said it was shame because they are basically the same price (the XJR is nowhere near the same price as the XJ6), he then explained the reasons for his choice and I understand why he did what he did, no worries there. I could not have known about his insurance situation etc.

No, he explained the mileage situation before you waded in with standard motors OMGWTFdiesellol ... how can everyone possibly not want the largest engine reasonably available to them?!

As for Robbie G, well he had been irritating me for a while to be honest, it just came to a head in this thread when I had, had enough of him. You can look back through a lot of stuff to see him positioning himself as some sort of predictably adversarial anti-establishment (when I say this I mean the prevailing Motors culture) guy around here. But the way he goes about it is more annoying than anything else. He will regularly go after the views of the same group of people. It's hard to explain to be honest, but I've been seeing it for a long time, it just winds me up because I think he does it on purpose. He is one of the people that seems to think there is some sort of "if it isn't a BMW it's crap" or we all 'hate' diesel ideology around here, which isn't really true, yet he uses this and other similar things to try and ...well I don't know what he's trying to do but basically kick some mud around I suppose.

This was not by any means an isolated incident. He was just being typically difficult and adversarial (it wasn't even anything to do with him either, although being the internet he's free to jump in if he wants), and I had, had enough.

Maybe I came on a bit strong, maybe I didn't ...I don't know really. Reading back I can't say that I am left regretting anything I said. But I didn't and still don't want to drag this thread any more off topic than it already has been, lets just get back to pictures of cars eh. We took a few shots at each other and it'll probably happen again at some point, since we seem to have very different opinions and ideas about things.

'positioning himself as some sort of predictably adversarial anti-establishment'

WTF are you on about? I did exactly what you did, which was ask 'why this and not that?' with no good reason. I knew the XKR was more expensive, you knew he was doing 18k a year hence wanted a diesel. Yet you are asking a reasonable question and I'm some sort of 'predictably adversarial anti-establishment guy'.

You just strike me as an enormous cry baby.

Went out for a drive with my Brother earlier and got a few pictures :)

LMAO I'm sorry Moeks but that is quite funny :D

Yea it does really, I just couldn't think of a good way of saying what I wanted to say, I probably should have said nothing. But I think you got what I was trying to say though right ?

You just strike me as an enormous cry baby.

Actually scratch what I originally said here, I've had a coffee now and calmed down a bit. I am just being an adversarial *** myself, I'm not saying that you aren't as well ...but I know that I am. So I'm laying it to rest now. What we are doing is silly, I don't even know why we are doing this anymore tbh.

I feel anything else that I say on this matter is just going to make me look foolish and not achieve anything positive at all.

It's unlikely we will ever see eye to eye Robbie, but we don't need to do this at all, especially on the most widely viewed thread in Motors.

Engine bay was "shaved" i.e. covered in a thin layer of filler to get rid of creases and then painted. This also disguises any holes which were welded shut. The small black box on top of the suspension is a motor to control the adjustable suspension.

This car is my ongoing project. It will soon receive a fresh coat of paint, stage 1 internals and a Vortech supercharger, aiming for between 250 and 300BHP.

My daily is a 56-plate (i.e. one of the last) "Premier" (i.e. Recaros and a few extras) Civic Type R, which is boring by comparison.

...oh and while I was at it I ordered a PC from OCUK
i930 OC'd to 4GHz
5870 AVP edition
6GB RAM
80Gb SSD system drive
1.5TB storage

Fair enough. Might not be everyone's ideal car, but they're a LOT of fun. Roof off with the Sun out, it's a guaranteed smile for me.

Trying to keep it looking as stock as I can, to make it a sleeper. 0 - 60 is somewhere around 5 or 6 seconds.

Blimey you put some work into that Honda, nice one.

Thanks for the comments guys.

The work was done by a company near Oxford called Hond-R , who are quite "big" in the modified Honda world in the UK (world in the UK...whatever). They did a fantastic job and are amazing to deal with, I thoroughly recommend them.

Anyway, if nobody minds I'll post up some pics tonight of my (pretty stock) EP3. I know they're a common car, but meh...it's a car that I own, so I might as well post it on the "motors" thread, even if it is just to for replies asking about how much burberry I own. Which is none.

Not my cup of tea at all, but I can't deny you've done a lot to it that actually seems to work and not made it look like a Barry special, on that basis, good job. What on earth is a parking pole though?

I don't like those green callipers much though.

Parking pole? It's just a pole that raises out of the left corner of the bumper, so you can see where the corner of the car is for the hard of parking. It's an option on a lot of JDM cars.

Oh right I see, I'd have thought a car like that is a little small to need such a device tbh.

The early W140 Mercedes S class originally had a similar device on each of the rear wings, before parking sensors, however they discontinued it on later cars and put regular parking sensors on. I believe they only rose from the rear wings when reverse was engaged though ...I don't think there was a separate button for them.

I looked at the engine bay and I was like :D

I looked at the car and I was like :(

I thought we had another Project Teg in here to smack mine silly, but no it's a little del sol.

Weird little cars but I don't really car, function over form here, and by god this must function  !

Never hve my new OEM mounts looked so ordinary and I have to love F7 kit, alhtough not their prices.

Love it, but I to navigate away before I spend more money on my car, especially the stunning B18 :D
