They did indeed, they even got the 'wood' to have a thoroughly authentic plastic 'tap-tap' quality to it

Indeed - it's the factory RS kit, as are the alloys.

Due to the poor weather and lack of decent light, these are the pics taken by the original owner:
Love it, lots! Although the colour is causing problems. It's carbon black but it looks blue depending on the way the light hits it. The DVLA have just decided they think its blue.
First mod carried out 20mins after I picked it up - binned the stupid badge on the front grill. Seems to have been off an E34
Next jobs will be bringing it up to showroom condition.

That's a lovely car naefeart, at least it appears to be, of course appearances can be deceiving ...it might be a mechanically abused pig of a car that will cost you your soul ...hmmm.
Great looking Granada Lashout, very clean for it's age too by the looks of it. I prefer the Mk1s and Mk2's myself. Seats look rather comfy too. My Dad have several Mk1's and 2's ...the 1's were before I was born but the 2's were all after I was born ...I liked them then and I do now. Well, in a nostalgic sort of way at least, not sure I'd want one as a daily driver now though.

I tried my best to minimise the risk. Its fully serviced and has just had an Inspection 1 from my main dealer (courtesy of the prev owner). While it was there I got them to give it a proper look over and highlight anything untoward. Came back clean, oh they did say the wipers were starting to smear. Curse my bad luck...
The only obvious abuse by the previous owner appears to be the badge. Time will tell, but at the moment it's all gravy.
edit - missed the Granada before... lord that looks mint. Can't be many around like that. 2.8 V6 with what... 160bhp?

It looks nice anyway, best of luck with it. It's nice to see one that isn't all black inside, they look so much better with a pale colour to contrast with the dark. Personally I like all cream interior with wood, but that's pretty rare on the E39s period, you do see it on SE's from time to time though.

Interesting to see what you have purchased as I know you have been doing a lot of looking/research. As much as I love the idea of this car I just can’t bring myself to like it.
What I do like:-
400bhp 400lb/ft 6.0l V8
0-60 in 4.9seconds and 175mph.
The rear seats
What I’m not a fan of:-
Rear lights (sorry I hate them)
Softness of the body lines
Saloon look of the car (both interior and exterior)
Just my opinion though and certainly wouldn't say no to a blast in one.
