Took the quattro out for a spin earlier today and took these when I got back:

I need to go home and do a double take on the numberplate; Im sure thats my dads old Quattro  I could be mistaken though. Does it say on the V5 who the first owner was?

No, just the owner before me in Crawley. Before him it belonged to Mr Graham Batt and I've also got older invoices for a Mr Anthony White and a Mr Roger Thomas but they are all here in Bristol.

I can't quite decide if I like 75s or not. They're cheap, have a good selection of engines, look quite good (in the "Fake jag" sort of way) and have a decent interior. But on the other hand they're a Rover...

It's all of these things. Unfortunately the 1.8L version, which isn't exactly lively, but it's like driving a comfy armchair and looks nice. For my first car, I'm well chuffed! :D

Cant see the point of those when there are S Types about.

Because they're dirt cheap! :o

How much was it? Get some pics of the interior up :)

£2k with a year warranty chucked in, 65k miles on the clock. Was worried about the HGF issue on the K-series engines but the only issue so far was the locking rods in the doors freezing shut after the first snow lol.

Interior pics to follow later.

Because the early S Types are for want of a better word crap, and carry with them bigger running costs?

The 75 is probably the best car Rover ever made - they are proper bargains for the money they now command.

Once you get the big engine in a 75 they cost no more than an S type to run.

Didn't realise they stuck the 3.5 V6 into these at the end of their lives.
Nice to see the Evo pack, too.

Seems to be full spec (bar the panoramic roof). Dare I ask how much?

Thanks, and yeah enjoying it a lot, only had it a month but it's great fun, need to get the paddle shift steering wheel as i don't want a full auto all the time, but thats a minor thing, other than that it's spec'd nicely, decent size engine and is just a much better build quality to anything i've had before.... servicing in a about a thousand miles i'm not looking forward to quite so much

Somewhat entertaining in the current weather for sure :D ... my lack of abilities (not experience, been driving 22 years) caused me to get sort of stuck the other day, might have got myself out, but there were a couple of people there at the right time and they helped :) .... got stuck in a parking space off the side side of a road, that was on a slight slope off the road, couldn't get enough traction to get myself back up onto the road, once there and moving i was ok though.... so big thanks to those passers-by showing plenty of christmas spirit and giving me a push :)

yup, it was always an option, just people were too scared to do it lol

Not the Evolution - although the mats i have for it say that lol

It is spec'd quite well, missing a couple of bits, as you saw the panoramic roof, which while helps resale value is expensive to repair and easy to chip on the leading edge, no heated seats on the full leather interior (wtf! lol) and no electric/memory seats, also no paddle shift option on the g'box, that paddle shift tip-tronic thing i will retro fit, the sunroof i can live without, heated seats, we'll see lol, other than that it's got the full parking sensors, airbags in the rear sides, bi-xenons, sports suspension, full inteligent AC, COMAND APS sat-nav, multi CD changer, full leather .... very nice indeed :)

cost a little under 10k, 2005 build with about 54k on the clock and full history

But it has the wheels, colour-coded door handles and the studded pedals (and the mats).
Or were all of those just standard on the 350?

The roof is nice, it's the only reason my mum had one :p

Not how I'd spend £10k, but at least it's got a bit of shove with 260bhp.
Enjoy it!

Yeah those were stock on the 350 variant i believe, or part of the sports interior trim (the mats i had to buy off ebay - previous owners kept the original ones - idiots !)

The roof is nice, and was something that i really did want, however, when weighed up, this one had most of the other stuff i wanted (the only other car i had seen with everything i wanted including the roof was near 13k) plus i had not had a sunroof for the last 14 years, so i figured i could live without it, and it was a good price :)

For me one of the important things was to stay away from fat b*stard brown's "bad car" tax ... if i bought one that was registered after the 23rd March 2006 then it would cost £450 per year road tax, that one being slightly older falls back 2 groups so costs £245 (would have been lower had labour not hit that lower group with the highest increase of all the groups 1 budget before being booted out of power) .... this is why i turned down at least 2 2007 models with lower spec that were for sale for less than i paid
