Show Us Your Motors!

The vectra was far more modern, nice big screen with trip computer info, DAB radio which brought up the DAB text on screen.

Its nothing to do with plastic quality for me, its more about the looks. The instrument binnacle was always a favourite of mine when it did this on startup :

What on earth are you talking about, seriously?

I had a 1.3 Encore and I hated it however, the Escort Cosworth was built on a Sierra floorpan and shares very few parts with a bog standard Escort. What a stupid comment.

Well I didn't know that. But what I was saying is that I couldn't ever buy myself one due having the crap experience of driving something with the same name.

Is that actually a garish yellow-cream colour or has the camera made it more yellow than it actually is?

With all due respect does it really matter? That didn't at all seem to be Muffin's point?

Although to be fair if you gave a damn about 'age' (baring in mind that with cars like this age itself does not equal condition) or what people think then a 'cult' car isn't for you. Even though it isn't something that I agree with I can certainly understand it :).

The Escort Cosworth is a car that's known. How much would you pay for an E-Type Jag Fox? Even though it's a very old car, it goes for well over £15k no?

Each to their own. But you always fail to realise that. :p

Why say this?

No, I never fail to realise that. I was simply explaining where MrLOL was coming from. I've not expressed my own opinion on the Cosworth.

That seemed like an own opinion in regards to Cosworths being nearly priced at £15k and being 17 years old?

Why say this?

Because its where I feel MrLOL was coming from.

MrLOL didn't pay a large amount of money for a comparatively old Vectra, therefore the fact his Vectra was, well, a Vectra doesnt really have the same bearing on him disliking and not wanting to sit in a 1993 Ford Escort.

That seemed like an own opinion in regards to Cosworths being nearly priced at £15k and being 17 years old?

Shall we ask MrLOL?

MrLOL, was my clarification of where you were coming from correct?

Sort your monitor out.

other photos of the interior doesn't have such a yellow hue on the leather. Also (don't know if it's suppose to be like it) but it the dash etc looks navy. Monitor is callibrated fine, if anything the red's were too strong when I first got it but I've either grown use to it or I sorted it somewhere down the line.

Yes

I couldn't give a damn it's a vauxhall, in exactly the same way i don't give a damn about the fact the Cosworth is a ford. Or that the interior plastics on the Vectra weren't great. That wasn't the reason i couldn't live with an escort Cosworth.

LOL - I personally like it, it is dark blue and cream leather with contrasting stitching.

It is not the worst comment I have had about the colour combo. Another TVR owner sitting in mine did refer to it as "like being inside an NHS hearing aid". As with most things in life each to their own!

How come all of a sudden its okay to have a 10+ year old TVR without even a airbag, not mention the whole cossie argument and yet a *classic* Mini is simply not worth it...I am pointing this in the direction of Fox/Jansey. :o

I have not passed any comment on the TVR as it doesnt interest me

This is a show us your motors thread not a 'What car?' thread?
