Show Us Your Motors!

I nervously put forward my first car to the motors community! I can't afford the F40 yet :p It's a 2012 Ford Fiesta Metal, 1.6 134PS. Handles brilliantly, lots of go for a small car too. The interior is really nice with leather and so on, I'll try get a pic up sometime. I just snapped these on my phone.

EDIT: Forgot the options -

Keyless entry/keyless start with power button
Privacy glass
Bluetooth with USB and voice control
Panther black metallic paint
Spare wheel

If anyone wants to know more about the car itself I'm happy to answer if you're interested.

Just discovered how much information you can extract from just the image url! I don't think people are aware. As I was just playing around with image URL's from the current 'Post your latest purchases...' thread to see what time of camera's people are using, and on one members pictures it displayed a map of the location the photo was taken and you could zoom onto the specific road!

I hope that person knows.

Yeah, all iPhones (and phones in general) accept the original phone have geotagging in the photos. Scary thing is i think cam****** don't realise this and may get stalkers!

Love that Fiesta Metal!

After making that post above, I checked my phone and realised I had mine on as well! Just switched it off on my iPhone now.

It looks awesome but I think you are mad to spend that much on your first car, the cash is better saved for literally 12 months later when you'll want something better. Everyone grows out of the first car quite quick :p

Bathurst with a Ford Fiesta.

YOU ARE DOING IT SO WRONG IT HURTS TO EVEN TELL YOU

I must now break all my own rules and post a picture of car I was simply renting and didnt own, just to redress the balance issues caused by the failure above.

That's not a Holden. ;)

I was waiting for that. :D

I've been a named driver on other cars in the household for some time, this is the first one I've bought with my own money as I've changed jobs. Nothing stopping me from changing it in 12 months, I think I'll be keeping it at least 2 years though. It's great fun to drive, getting something larger or more powerful increases the insurance to crazy levels, I'm only 23. The insurance on this was very reasonable indeed.

EDIT: Also I got a lot of money off the new price, it was a stonking deal.

I do like the new fiesta, for the time we had it as a curtosey car seemed a well specced car, would have expected alloys on the one we had for the amount of stuff inside.
Do think that metal looks good although a bit naturally chav.

Well I loathe paying insurance, more powerful vehicles are going to cost upwards of £1.5k a year to insure, I can't do that. In a couple of years when I'm 25 it'll be cheaper for sure. I also have no NCB so that does affect it, though my premium for fully comp was about £650 which I thought was fairly reasonable considering.

I could have insured an older car with a larger engine and so on, but I went new for various reasons. Long and short of it is, I'm happy with the cost of everything and seeing as I don't have a house/kids etc it's well, well within what I can afford.

I picked the Metal as it's the most powerful fiesta and it is a lot more fun than the equivalent price focus (which i was also considering - Zetec 1.6 etc). Pretty sold on it after test drives tbh. Now I'm going to concentrate on enjoying it, still can't believe it's mine though! Exciting times.

EDIT: Yeah I was worried it's a little chav but I'm at peace with that. It's much better looking to me than it's predecessor, the S1600, which is a bit more in your face. I like the all black look, the chavs around here have clapped out Corsas anyway!

I knew fox would love it when I posted.

Simple enough, I couldn't afford to spend the money that a similar age xr6 costs. Purchase price, insurance and running costs would all be a lot higher which when you have moved out here with nothing wouldn't be suitable.

Give it a year and ill have something better! Besides, the xr6 is the poor mans xr6 turbo or xr8....

I'm 22 and I was in exactly the same position. Got myself an e92 335i as my first car from my own money. You are right though, my insurance is nearly £1500. I'm hankering for an e92 m3 though...baby steps :p

Sounds sweet, that's a nice car indeed. Age does seem to have a fairly large affect on getting a reasonable quote, and there seems to be good reductions at 25, and I also noticed some insurers won't even give you a quote for more powerful vehicles unless you're 27!

Yh 25 is the age for men as we finally lose the boy racer tag. When my insurance is up for renewal in June I would have got my 1st years no claims and will have held my licence for over 5 years so I think my premium drops to around £1100.
