Show Us Your Motors!

Was the options list really so sparse on the Fiesta Metal that having a spare wheel was worthy of mention? :p

It's not standard apparently, the other option is an inflation kit of some kind. You're right though, not really worth mentioning.

You're worried about spending big money on insurance when you've just bought a brand new car for how much? Logic fail..

No, that was never a deciding factor fella, but it did contribute very slightly. This car is the right balance for me right now, I'm very happy with it.

Sounds sweet, that's a nice car indeed. Age does seem to have a fairly large affect on getting a reasonable quote, and there seems to be good reductions at 25, and I also noticed some insurers won't even give you a quote for more powerful vehicles unless you're 27!

I paid under a grand to insure a then 4 year old 530i at 22 :p

Basically what Fox said. For the price you would have paid for the car alone, you've probably spent more than I did for my Subaru, by a good few grand.

The Fiesta is Nice, there's just no point saying you couldn't buy something better or whatever, because of insurance costs, when the brand new car in front of you costs so much!

I never said I bought that to save on insurance. I don't like paying more though, who does! It was a small factor, but in comparison to the total cost, not that large at all. That's quite obvious I thought.

It never fails to amuse me how everyone's motivations have to be passive-agressively judged and questioned here under a thin veil of light humour. I just wanted to show my car to the community, not be interrogated as to why I purchased it. I know my own situation, wants, limitations and so on, I made the decision myself for the right reasons and I don't regret it at all, it was the right choice for me right now. That was the car I wanted, perhaps because it's not an old BMW it doesn't appeal that much to you, but that's the thing, we're all different. If you walked a mile in my shoes, you may well have come to the same decision or at least understand.

I'll happily entertain any questions about the car itself, but I'm not giving out all my personal information and circumstances on the internet to justify my purchase in the eyes of strangers.

Don't interpret this is frustration on my part, I'm just explaining it so that you understand.

Enjoy the car, forget what everyone else thinks, as long as you are happy with your purchase that is all that matters.

This comes up so much and it really is so easy to avoid.

If you want us to comment on your car, post your car and say 'Hey guys, this is my car'. That is then exactly what you will get.

If you post 'Hey guys this is my car I AM ONLY 23 INSURANCE INSURANCE INSURANCE BRAND NEW FIESTA' then you cannot be suprised or agrieved when people find your purchasing decision more interesting to discuss than your Fiesta.

People can only discuss the information you give them. If you only want to discuss the car simply post the car and ignore any requests for further information. Its that simple.

That really isn't how it went down, my first post didn't even mention it at all, you started the conversation on price, which is now finished, it's over. I shouldn't have even bothered to reply to you as it always goes down the same road. It's sad for you that you can't be more mature about it but hey, I'm going out for a drive.

To be fair the Fiesta itself is class leading - nobody makes a better small car.

I wouldn't doubt it for a second ... but for me, it's an obvious choice. If It were my money I would want something 'different'. Personal preference.
